Bring Honor to Us All

Disney's live-action Mulan teaser trailer is here and I am absolutely living for this! 😄 I love that it looks like it is a mesh between "The Ballad of Mulan" and the animated movie. I also love how in the teaser trailer the film pays tribute tin a respectful way to Chinese culture and at the same time it keeps the iconic aesthetic of the animated film.  From what we've seen of the teaser, it looks to be a balanced blend. I also love how Mulan is un-apologetically a strong female lead, something that, in the original animated film was showed case, but in the live-action it seems like it is taken to a more deeper mature level. Certain iconic supporting characters seem to be missing from the teaser, which has caused negative backlash from people 🙀. Seriously people? You're getting your panties in a twist because Mushu doesn't seem to be in the teaser trailer? Can't you guys wait to confirm whether he'll be included or not? If you're still not ...

The Rise of Mark Hamill

Ever since 'The Force Awakens,' which without a doubt an absolute hit, there's one person who has benefited from this renewed interest in the saga, that person being the great Mark Hamill. And in my personal opinion it is well overdue. He's a fabulous actor, who for awhile was overshadowed by Harrison Ford's action-adventure career. Not to throw any shade at Mr. Ford, he's also a wonderful actor, but Mark was overshadowed, and at a point, unfortunately type-casted, until he shined with his voice-acting chops as The Joker in the much beloved 90's cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series.  From then on, he's been working with his talented voice doing many memorable voice overs, but once The Force Awakened, it's like a renewed interest in Mark, as more than a voice-actor has put him back into the spotlight. Which I am absolutely thrilled as a long time fan of Mr. Hamill (and yes, Luke forever will be my MCM) it brings me joy seeing him more constantly...

Let's not get Carried away.

While rummaging around the internet, as one does, I found a really distressing rumor/idea/proposal of a petition to ask Meryl Streep to be General Leia in the upcoming Star Wars installment. Yup, if you haven't heard this news by now, um, where have you been living?! But in all seriousness, SAY WHAT?! Whomever thought this was a good idea, NEEDS TO STOP. Don't get me wrong, I love Meryl Streep just like the next person. I think she's a wonderful actress who can either play loving mothers, or downright b*tches. And this has NOTHING to do with her quality of work, or as a personal friend of the late Carrie Fisher, but SERIOUSLY?! Pinterest Ok, we get it, she played a 'version' of Carrie Fisher in 'Postcards from the Edge'  but how does this qualify her to don the magnificent dresses and iconic status of General Leia Organa Solo?! In what universe? Was the person who came up with this idea, drunk at the time? Princess/General Leia is an icon...

Star Wars 'fans' vs. The Last Jedi.

Hey, I'm back!! Sorry it took me a while to write an entry but, I've been working like a maniac. Alright, so I leave the fandom for a bit (as in, writing) and what do I come back with? That the Star Wars fandom is all getting their panties in a twist because,  Last Jedi , according to some pissed off fan boys, did not meet their expectations/fan theories. Well, Hellooo, they're called 'fan theories' because exactly that, they are theories that fans make according to their knowledge and wish full thinking of what they would like to see happen. But neither does Rian Johnson, Disney or LucasFilm are in any way obligated to oblige ANY  of you. And yes, if you think I'm sounding a bit petty, it is because probably I am. But not as petty as these so-called 'fans' who are basically dissecting every single thing from the film in rage that it didn't, somehow, meet their stinkin' standards.  First of, Disney didn't tap any of you to continue on...

STILL, HOOKED ON A FEELIN'.

Ok, so I meant to have this post publish A LONG while back, but unfortunately, I got struck with a upper respiratory infection that got complicated with my asthma/bronchitis. So, to say that I had a horrible couple of weeks, is an understatement. Coupled with the fact that unfortunately I have to work, well, it's not been easy. So, kiddies, I apologize sincerely, that I've neglected you guys, but this time, it really wasn't due to boredom, it was due to health. And yes, I know OTHER films have come out since! Without further interruptions, here is my review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Unlike the first film, where it had much more comedic elements and was light fun, this second installment has a far more serious tone. Its pace is a bit slower for a good part of the movie, due to the build up effect, but once it finally reaches its peak, it goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds. The reason its pacing is a bit slow is due to the tensions that is going on w...

What Would Dory Do?

Hello Kiddies!! So, of course after the holiday weekend (Fourth of July), it is time to get back into our daily routines, but I am finally able to write yet another entry. So, shall we? As a treat for 4th of July, the Hubby and I (with our Munchkin) decided to finally catch 'Finding Dory' in theaters, so as you guys can imagine, this is my opinion piece of the movie. Although it was a bit less funny than the original, it was definitely more of an emotional journey, not just for Dory but for Marlin & Nemo as well. Throughout the film, we are taken on a rollercoaster ride from funny moments, to tender and back again to charming events. It has a well balanced pace, which makes it not too slow or fast. Dory is not an ecstatic character in this film. Finding Nemo , Dory was the charming comic relief for the more tense parts of the film. With her childlike wonder and whimsy, she teaches (inavertedly) Marlin, to let go a bit and let his son grow up, despite the perils ...

HOLD THE DOOR.

I just realized that probably the majority of GOT fans are sadomasichists and we know it. Are you guys still recooperating from last night's episode? Holy Finckle Juice, seriously GOT show runners, you guys just like to torment us with this incredible pain & anguish. So, if you haven't SEEN last night's episode, DO SO NOW, just make sure you have a handfull of kleenex boxes with you because IT IS a tear jerker, in more ways than one. You guys know that I'm not much about spoilers and I try to avoid them like the plague or in this case, like Greyscale. Anywhoo, after last night's GOT episode "The Door," there are probably thousands of theories of what it all means, and this time I'm not so much giving you MY theories, but a realization that I know many will agree with me.  (Source: gameofthrones.wikia.com) If I were to ask you who you think was the most dangerous character in GOT, who would you say? Euron, Yara, LittleFinger, Sir Pou...

Trekkies & Thor.

Hello kiddies!! I do hope all of you had a safe and fun weekend, so once again I am bringing you news that have been circulating on the past couple of days and giving you my take on them. So, we begin: Over the wekeend Trekkies/Trekkers got to finally see a teaser for the upcoming Star Trek Series and a new trailer for Star Trek-Beyond . And let me tell you the buzz that has been generated comes with many mixed reviews/opinions. Ok, so for the series, many people noticed that it had the original loga and soundtrack, and it was assumed that the tv. series will once again focus on the crew of the Enterprise . Despite what the showrunners have said, that the show will focus on a NEW crew & ship. Well, the internet being what it is there are some people who have not taken to this news lightly. Many have spoken up that they feel like the tv. show will basically be a "J.J. Abrams" styled Trek and that the Trek that many fans came to know and love is gone. There were...

Hold on to your hats: Internet is on FIRE!!

Hello kiddies!!  Lets start!! Dr. Strange citing! (Source: ew.com/Marvel, Disney) Omg, I feel like Marvel at times likes so be a little sadistic with their fans, there is obviously all the secretive, 'hush-hush' that we all know that their actors, staff can and are made to be when it comes to filming and spoilers, but just yesterday, or is it today, EITHER WAY, there was a citing of Benedict Cumberbatch, cast & crew in the city of NY, while they were filming Dr. Strange movie! And of course, it has set a frenzy  of various online sources to comment and share pictures of these rare citings. And of course, it is noteworthy because, who isn't excitingly awaiting for the Dr. Strange movie to come out? Besides, it further fuels our interests more so due to the fact that 'Civil War' is just a month away from releasing, so, ANY news, citing, from Marvel is always a treat. And to make things even mor exciting, it was purported that during break from ...

D.C.: Surprising us left & right.

As of late there have been so many news worthy events going on, but I have so little time to cover them all! So, let's start, shall we? We get our cake and can eat it too!! On the eve of the release date for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice , the entire internet world was treated by Lego/DC/WAG to release a teaser trailer to the upcoming Lego Batman Movie. (Source: tgdaily.com) And Holy Smokes, what a treat it was!! Dare I say that when I saw the teaser I got far more excited than tomorrow's release?! It looks charming, funny and entertaining, and I was thrilled to find out that Will Arnett will be reprising his role as Bruce/Batman. There's also high hopes because the same team tht worked on The Lego Movie is onboard with this project as well. The only bad news is that the movie will not be out until 2017, but from what we've been teased, it looks promising. I leave you with the link for your enjoyment: http://nerdist.com/the-lego-batman-movi...

TRITON NEEDS PARENTING CLASSES, ASAP!

Don't you wish you could go back and re-live your childhood now that you are an adult whose days are filled with responsabilities, bills, mortage payments, etc.? A good chunk of my memories were, me sitting in front of the 'telly' and falling in love with movies like The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid (which my brother kindly decided to count how many times I viewed it: 100 something), The Rescuers, Secret of NIMH, etc. Like many of you who grew up in the 90s, most of my fondest memories are thanks to Disney and other animation studios. Now that I'm an adult seeing these films all over again, I can't help but notice that some of the content and/or characters are incredibly shady!! In our conversation, the Husband and I were discussing how King Triton (yes, Ariel's dear ol' daddy) is in actuality a horrible parent. Oh, don't believe me? Here's why: (Source: prgn.dromila.top) For starters he is a neglectful father... ...
