Proud Geek Mom moment.

Phew! It's been a while since I posted on here. No, I have not forgotten about this blog, and yes, I'm still writing on it because it's fun. WoW has kinda taken over my free time to be honest (No, I don't have a problem, lol) and also just life in general has been a roller coaster, specially these past couple of weeks. But now I find myself having a bit of more time, so I'm here 😁. As many by now know realize that I am a Geek, but I'm also a parent. And even though I've come to terms and acceptance with my geekiness, that doesn't mean that my daughter has to be one as well. But, as all parents do, I like to share with her things that I think she might enjoy. We (the Mr. and I) got her into WoW, because she developed a genuine curiosity for it. I didn't coarse her or influence her into it. She also has her own little niches, like Minecraft, Undertale, etc. But most importantly, we let her make her own choice when it comes to what she likes and wh...

CALLING ALL CAT LADIES!!

Lately, I've been noticing that I've been doing way, and I mean WAY   too many film reviews, and as much as I enjoy them, I really don't want to have one sort of content on my blog. So, this blog won't be a film  review (although, I was really tempted to write one for The Incredibles 2 ) instead it will be a game review of a really fun game that involves the subject-matter that is near and dear to my heart, CATS! So for all future and current cat ladies (and everyone else) today I will be reviewing Cat Lady . The mechanics: Easy to play (30 minute game) card game that involves rows and columns, where there are different cards, which are: Cats (these felines need to be adopted by you and the other players. Milk, tuna, meat cards (which you trade in for little pegs, that represent either milk, tuna or meat to feed your kitties). Cat toys, these give extra stuff at the end of the game. Cat nip, also these give extra stuff at the end of game. BoardGameGeek ...

Battling Wizards while sabotaging mines & taking over Tokyo.

Hello kidies!! Sorry I have been on a hiatus for a while, life just seems to come at you full force and its hard to stop. Either way, here I AM back at this ol' writing thing again. (I'm kidding, about the old) It feels good to be back and yes, as much as I missed blogging about everything, being away gave me a different perspective of what I want my content to be about. A lot of times, bloggers tend to fall on "newsworthy" or the up and coming article, news, but at times, you kinda loose the sense of what you really are passionate about. What really interests you. So, yes, it was good for me to step back and re-evaluate many things. Ok, during this time I had the chance to try out new games for you guys (if you already haven't) so, yes, this will be a board game review about some of the games I got to play during my absence. Lets begin! Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle Deck Builder Co-Op deck builder game 2-4 players ages 11+ $45+ Designed and D...

Family Game Night.

Hello kiddies! Anywhoo, so as of late I had been thinking that although I have reviewed some table top games, deck builders, cooperative board games, etc. I haven't really reviewed or commented about family friendly games that EVERYONE in the family can enjoy. My husband and I are avid table top gamers, more so than console, but we also like to take into account our 8 year old daughter. The awesome part of table top gaming is not only the strategy and mechanics of game play, but it truly brings people together. There is table talk, and it is basicaly different personalities coming together and enjoying the same game. Anywhoo, so I am aware that for many family games denote the traditional board games of yester year, like Monopoly, Guess Who, Sorry, etc. But now a days, there are many different kinds of table top games that younger players can join. Here are some suggestions (that we have personally played, and our 8 year old has enjoyed so far): Catan Junior- For those ...

Fury of Dracula

Hello kiddies!! What is dead may not die, but rise again!! LOL, just kidding, sorta.  I know I really don't have excuses as to WHY I've been gone (work and other stuff that's happened) but I'm here now. So, what do I bring to you today? I will be giving my review/comments on Fury of Dracula . No, it's not a movie title but a boardgame (table top) by the makers of Fantasy Flight Games company (who are also responsible for White Chapel ). It is a 2-5 players, and it is a one versus many deduction game based on Bram Stoker's Dracula. And they are not kidding that it is one versus many! So one player gets to be Dracula and the rest of the players get to be the Hunters. There are 4 hunters with their own special abilities and weaknesses. Dracula gets his own mini map and the players get to place their designated character token on the board, Dracula gets to place in his mini map.  The interesting thing about this game is that it is a very much 'cat ...

Gaming for Dummies... (just kidding about the dummy part)

Hello kiddies! I had recently noticed that although I had brought to you guys news about upcoming films, premiers, etc. I hadn't exactly branched out and mainly have gotten stuck in one area of our community. That is NOT what I want to do. I most definitely enjoy bringing you guys news about upcoming films and whatnot, but there is so much more to explore. So, yesterday I was thinking about a new subject area that I could possibly write about and I came across table top gaming. As most of you know there are a lot of types of 'gamers,' there are the MMO-RPG enthusiasts (WoW, Arcane Legends, League of Legends, etc), let us not forget the console users, like XBOX, Playstation, Old school cartridge gamers (Sega, Nintendo, etc), and although there is absolutely nothing wrong with either, my absolute favorite type of gaming is known as table top.  Now, for those newbies out there, what is table top? Well we all enjoyed board games when we were young, Monopoly ...
