2017: The year of Spiders, Wonder Women & Duck Tales.

Happy New Year kiddies!! Let's hope that 2017 brings us happier times than the s$#t storm that was 2016. What did happen last year?! Most of the time it felt like we were collectively living in an episode of the Twilight Zone . (I can just hear the theme in my head as I write this, lol.) But enough reminiscing about the year that just passed by, for many of us, we hope that this new year will be FAR FAR better than last, and by the looks of it, it might just be. Why> Well, at least new releases will be a heck of a better year than last. No, I'm not complaining about the films that came out last year (Doctor Strange, Rogue One, CIvil War, etc) because they were excellent. But this year, we have really awesome arrivals as well. I know I'm looking forward to: The Lego Batman Movie, which quite frankly, looks far better than Batman v.s Superman (sorry...) Release date: February 10, 2017 LEGO.com Logan is also coming out this year, and it looks to be lik...

Teen Titans v. Justice League Review.

Hello kiddies!! It is I again, bringing you my thoughts and what not with all things Geek. 😀 I believe most of you are aware that not only does DC is making live action films (ahem, Batman v. Superman, Wonder Woman and JL, etc) but they have also been doing pretty good tv. show content like Gotham, The Flash & Green Arrow.  My point is that there is variety when it comes to choosing between Marvel and DC content. Anywhoo, recently (if you guys are yet not familiared with) DC/Warner Bros. Animation Studios have also released incredible storylines through animation.  (Source: screenrant.com) And recently I was able to watch Teen TItans vs. Justice League. I have also had the opportunity to watch: The Flashpoint Paradox; Gods vs. Monsters and Son of Batman (which i particularly have mixed feelings about thanks to Damian Wayne). Either way, I particuarly enjoy the animated films because they are can be closer iterations of the comics. With that being said he...

More D.C. Superhero Girls...

Under normal circumstances I'm usually the one who loves to sleep in whenever possible, specially on the weekends, but who doesn't? Anywhoo, last Saturday was a bit different because the 1st episode (of many, I hope) of D.C. Superhero Girls  aired on Boomerang. So, before the scheduled airdate I promptly got up (well as promptly as one can w/crutches,lol) woke up my 8 year old daughter and we headed to the livingroom to watch. Yes, I am aware that the main target audience is 7 and up, but I absolutely loved the concept since it was announced. I love the fact that DC (and Marvel too) is making a concious effort to include future geeklings of the feminine persuassion. So, of course I was not going to miss this opportunity! Here is my opinion... I absolutely loved the message for the premiere episode, girl power and being confident in who you are. The episode starts with Supergirl getting accepted to Superhero High, where she will learn to control her super powers an...

D.C.: Surprising us left & right.

As of late there have been so many news worthy events going on, but I have so little time to cover them all! So, let's start, shall we? We get our cake and can eat it too!! On the eve of the release date for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice , the entire internet world was treated by Lego/DC/WAG to release a teaser trailer to the upcoming Lego Batman Movie. (Source: tgdaily.com) And Holy Smokes, what a treat it was!! Dare I say that when I saw the teaser I got far more excited than tomorrow's release?! It looks charming, funny and entertaining, and I was thrilled to find out that Will Arnett will be reprising his role as Bruce/Batman. There's also high hopes because the same team tht worked on The Lego Movie is onboard with this project as well. The only bad news is that the movie will not be out until 2017, but from what we've been teased, it looks promising. I leave you with the link for your enjoyment: http://nerdist.com/the-lego-batman-movi...

NEW 52: WONDER WOMAN REVIEW

My all time favorite DC heroine is Wonder Woman (a very narrow second place is held by Hawkgirl, 'bird nose' according to Solomon Grundy).  And as a massive load of you know DC New 52 has come out with a re-vamped more streamlined Wonder Woman story. Azzarello, Chiang and Akins have done an incredible job, not just by the artwork, but the story is absolutely solid. I seriously don't want to spoil any thing for those of you who haven't had the chance to read the new 52 story line. Brief synopsis is that Wonder Woman has to confront many Olympian Gods & Goddesses for Zeus' throne.  There is also a very important prophecy that involves a mortal girl & her child. The story line has twists, turns, allies, not so much mainstream villains, but more so contenders for the throne (this sounds a bit like a Game of Thrones episode! lol.)  Btw, they also revamped her origin story, which now makes her even more of a bad-ass than ever!! Th...
