I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of ...

Excelsior.

Yesterday was an absolutely devastating day when the entire world learned of the passing of our beloved Excelsior. And as I woke up today, deep inside of me, I wanted to believe that it wasn't true, that it was one of those cheesy celebrity 'death hoaxes' but the reality is that, he's gone. It's been a day, and throughout social media, people are still pouring out their grief and condolences. Den of Geek I think most of us are still in shell shock, trying to come to terms that a legend has passed, but that doesn't mean he will be forgotten. Stan Lee touched millions with his stories, with what he created can only be described with one word.... genius. He created heroes who represented our deepest desires and also showed our flaws, and entire generations grew up taking an introspective look at their own lives, with simple 'comics.' His legacy transcended because it was ultimately spoke to us through our shared humanity, and whether we spok...

Wishing you only the best, EXCELSIOR.

I had been debating all day long in deciding whether or not I wanted to post this. And although many of you are aware of the news by now, I really don't want to become one of those gossip news blogger sites where, I just hash out news left and right from "un-reputable" sources and call it a day. I've worked really hard (even though, my blog might not reach the level of notoriety that I hoped for, but to whom ever it does reach) to not be one of those sites. So, I will tread with a word of caution, that despite me giving you guys the following information from another  site, this by no means says that I agree or even condone (whether true or not their information is), but I will give you what I think, simple as that. And I sound like I'm rambling because I probably am. A couple of days ago, it was reported through The Hollywood Reporter , that sources (who of course, like always wish to remain 'anonymous') that beloved legend Stan Lee was being abused a...

STILL, HOOKED ON A FEELIN'.

Ok, so I meant to have this post publish A LONG while back, but unfortunately, I got struck with a upper respiratory infection that got complicated with my asthma/bronchitis. So, to say that I had a horrible couple of weeks, is an understatement. Coupled with the fact that unfortunately I have to work, well, it's not been easy. So, kiddies, I apologize sincerely, that I've neglected you guys, but this time, it really wasn't due to boredom, it was due to health. And yes, I know OTHER films have come out since! Without further interruptions, here is my review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Unlike the first film, where it had much more comedic elements and was light fun, this second installment has a far more serious tone. Its pace is a bit slower for a good part of the movie, due to the build up effect, but once it finally reaches its peak, it goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds. The reason its pacing is a bit slow is due to the tensions that is going on w...

Through the Eye of Agamotto

I do hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with food and loved ones! Except I do hope no one ATE their loved ones, because "Ewwww!" Hello kiddies! Now that gobble gobble day is well behind us, many are starting to put their various Xmas decorations and most importantly we are gearing up for the release of Rogue One, but before we get there, like many of you I took this past holiday to FINALLY catch up to the rest of the world and go see Dr. Strange in theaters. And, as many of you can guess, this will be a movie review of sorts. Normally in my movie reviews I make a list of pros and cons, but in this instance I feel like it deserves something different. Why? Well it's not like it was devoid of some cons but it had a different feel to the rest of the MCU. I'll explain:  Source: Den of Geek So far, the MCU has avoided (like the plague, no less) in having to incorporate magic/mysticism in the back stories and rationale of Thor's hammer ...

In My Own Words: Marvel Princess Leia

Hello kiddies, so far I hope you guys are having a good work week, & 'Never Give up, never surrender', the weekend is almost upon us!! 😅😄 Anywhoo, sorry that I've been a bit away from blogging, but since I have been cleared to go back to work, on light duty, I've been again running around (figuratively of course) like a chicken with its head cut off. So, please bare with me, I will try not to neglect you guys as much as I did, but I will try to at least post two per week. Ok, enough blabbing on my part, what do I bring you guys today? News from the watercooler? Nope, Geeky apparel/items, NO, I bring you another review! Oh, boy...  Yes, I know, sorry bare with me, I promise to make this more entertaining that the last two. So, what am I reviewing today? Aside from table top games, clothing, accessories, etc.? Well, a couple of months ago, I picked up a copy of Marvel/Star Wars: Princess Leia from my local shop.  And I am aware that this is an older comi...

Trekkies & Thor.

Hello kiddies!! I do hope all of you had a safe and fun weekend, so once again I am bringing you news that have been circulating on the past couple of days and giving you my take on them. So, we begin: Over the wekeend Trekkies/Trekkers got to finally see a teaser for the upcoming Star Trek Series and a new trailer for Star Trek-Beyond . And let me tell you the buzz that has been generated comes with many mixed reviews/opinions. Ok, so for the series, many people noticed that it had the original loga and soundtrack, and it was assumed that the tv. series will once again focus on the crew of the Enterprise . Despite what the showrunners have said, that the show will focus on a NEW crew & ship. Well, the internet being what it is there are some people who have not taken to this news lightly. Many have spoken up that they feel like the tv. show will basically be a "J.J. Abrams" styled Trek and that the Trek that many fans came to know and love is gone. There were...

Oh Captain, My Captain!! (my thoughts on 'Civil War')

Hello kiddies! Well I hope that all of you had an awesome weekend doing whatever you liked to do. As for myself, this past Saturday, I was able to finally go to the movie theater and watch 'Captain America: Civil War." And... to be honest, I seriously enoyed it! It was really amazingly done despite the HUGE difference from the comics. And yes I'm aware that many 'fanboys' and 'fangirls' who have read the entire story and the different story arcs were sorely disappointed with how the movie was done.   (Source: comicbook.com) But here in defense of the Russo brothers (like they would need any defending at all) here are some of the changes & main points that I liked about the film. Comic book nods: In the main story arc for 'Civil War' the main incident that triggers all the mess is the death of a young boy who was on a school bus in the wrong place at the wrong time. And thanks to these wanna be, B 'super heroes' who are ju...

Saying Goodbye to Captain America's #1 Girl.

Hello kiddies!! By now most of you have already heard that ABC has announced various names of t.v. shows that are and will be cancelled and to a lot angry fans one of those shows on the chomping block is Agent Carter. Like many of you I'm very sad to hear this announcement. I think that we had yet to see so much more from our favorite leading agent. But unfortunately that is the decision of the studio. And what are my thoughts on this? Because you all know I can never just BE quiet, lol.  Well, I like many of you think that not only did the studio make a huge mistake, they went the easier route. And what do I mean by this? Well, first of yes I am aware that Agent Carter was originally meant to be a filler show while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was on hiatus, but from the beginning when they realized that this show meant to a lot of fans, specifically women, instead of kind of advertising they should have tried a better attempt to have it have more exposure.  And by ...

Hold on to your hats: Internet is on FIRE!!

Hello kiddies!!  Lets start!! Dr. Strange citing! (Source: ew.com/Marvel, Disney) Omg, I feel like Marvel at times likes so be a little sadistic with their fans, there is obviously all the secretive, 'hush-hush' that we all know that their actors, staff can and are made to be when it comes to filming and spoilers, but just yesterday, or is it today, EITHER WAY, there was a citing of Benedict Cumberbatch, cast & crew in the city of NY, while they were filming Dr. Strange movie! And of course, it has set a frenzy  of various online sources to comment and share pictures of these rare citings. And of course, it is noteworthy because, who isn't excitingly awaiting for the Dr. Strange movie to come out? Besides, it further fuels our interests more so due to the fact that 'Civil War' is just a month away from releasing, so, ANY news, citing, from Marvel is always a treat. And to make things even mor exciting, it was purported that during break from ...
