It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. So, you finished watching most of your intended shows and you have no clue on what to watch next? Well, thanks to my daughter, and her amazing taste (specially when it comes to dragons) she introduced me to this amazing series called The Dragon Prince  which is currently on Netflix. I believe most of the production team from Avatar: The Last Airbender  is also responsible for this hidden gem.  IMDb The style is also reminiscent of Avatar , but do not be fooled, it is not Avatar in the least. Under normal circumstances I'm usually the one who loves to sleep in whenever possible, specially on the weekends, but who doesn't? Anywhoo, last Saturday was a bit different because the 1st episode (of many, I hope) of D.C. Superhero Girls  aired on Boomerang. So, before the scheduled airdate I promptly got up (well as promptly as one can w/crutches,lol) woke up my 8 year old daughter and we headed to the livingroom to watch. Yes, I am aware that the main target audience is 7 and up, but I absolutely loved the concept since it was announced. I love the fact that DC (and Marvel too) is making a concious effort to include future geeklings of the feminine persuassion. So, of course I was not going to miss this opportunity! Oh for the love of Mike!!  So, one merry day while I was doing my routine fan girl duty of scavenging on YouTube for videos of my favorite geeky/nerdy things, I bump into one particular parody video where they are clearly making fun of Ariana Grande and her one look hairdo.  I honestly got a chuckle or two for the reference of Anime and Ariana's infamous hairdo.  Nevertheless, I usually do look at the comments (mainly to see other peoples' opinions and what not, sometimes witty comments to the videos I have just seen) and couldn't help but notice that not only this particular video had garner a lot of anger from fans of this singer and also fans Anime. What struck me in particular was that many Anime fans were up in arms about the reference that was made of Anime being equated to "cartoons." And this is when all hell broke lose!!
