Ever since 'The Force Awakens,' which without a doubt an absolute hit, there's one person who has benefited from this renewed interest in the saga, that person being the great Mark Hamill.
And in my personal opinion it is well overdue. He's a fabulous actor, who for awhile was overshadowed by Harrison Ford's action-adventure career.
Not to throw any shade at Mr. Ford, he's also a wonderful actor, but Mark was overshadowed, and at a point, unfortunately type-casted, until he shined with his voice-acting chops as The Joker in the much beloved 90's cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series. From then on, he's been working with his talented voice doing many memorable voice overs, but once The Force Awakened, it's like a renewed interest in Mark, as more than a voice-actor has put him back into the spotlight.
Which I am absolutely thrilled as a long time fan of Mr. Hamill (and yes, Luke forever will be my MCM) it brings me joy seeing him more constantly on various projects (not just hearing him).
How come I've mentioned this? Well the new trailer for the Star Wars franchise dropped, and has a very interesting title: The Rise of Skywalker.
Wait, ummm, Ben is a Skywalker by blood, but not name, he is a Solo.
Leia IS a Skywalker, and the title might hint to the last role for our beloved Princess/General.
But it could also hint, that Luke, might not be done, just yet. Could we possibly expect a cameo from Mark?
Who knows?! But it is a very interesting title, something that raises so MANY questions.
Now, another possibility is that we finally find out whose Rey's parents are.
There have been hypotheses flying out there, and one of the common one, is that Rey is indeed a Skywalker.
But again, these are just fan hypotheses, and at this point anything goes.
Basically, we'll just have to wait to see where the film leads to.
Returning back to my main point, it is a possibility that Mark will have a cameo, that was the point.
But, in case that he doesn't... we can also catch him in action as Talus, in the Knightfall series on The History Channel.
Or, also coming soon, as Buddi, in the remake of "Child's Play." Yes, he'll be lending his talent to voice the infamous killer doll, and honestly, I can't wait because everyone knows he can definitely pull it off!
Point being is that this has been a long time coming for him, and he deserves it and I'm so happy that he's back on the spotlight, were he was always meant to be.
