Star Wars 'fans' vs. The Last Jedi.

Hey, I'm back!! Sorry it took me a while to write an entry but, I've been working like a maniac.

Alright, so I leave the fandom for a bit (as in, writing) and what do I come back with? That the Star Wars fandom is all getting their panties in a twist because, Last Jedi, according to some pissed off fan boys, did not meet their expectations/fan theories.

Well, Hellooo, they're called 'fan theories' because exactly that, they are theories that fans make according to their knowledge and wish full thinking of what they would like to see happen. But neither does Rian Johnson, Disney or LucasFilm are in any way obligated to oblige ANY of you.

And yes, if you think I'm sounding a bit petty, it is because probably I am. But not as petty as these so-called 'fans' who are basically dissecting every single thing from the film in rage that it didn't, somehow, meet their stinkin' standards.

First of, Disney didn't tap any of you to continue on the films, so, your point is moot there.

Second, I recall when Force Awakens came out last year, many of these hurt fans were b*tching and moaning about how the story was too close (and unoriginal) to A New Hope, and many voiced that they would have wanted a more 'original' and less predictable story line.

Well, Disney, Johnson and LucasFilm heard you guys, and what do you do now? You b*tch about how it is "too original" and that "it went not as expected."

Wow, the studio/director can't catch a break, can't they? Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I for one, enjoyed the newest installment. I think it was well balanced in originality, but also made tributes to Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

And I also like being surprised and genuinely not know what is going to happen in the movie or in the next installment.

I honestly think, that Last Jedi is bridging the gap between the original trilogy (and in a fitting, loving way ending the stories that we all grew up with) so, a new generation can tell their own stories within the Star Wars universe. New heroes, characters, storylines, that are fresh and original.

So, sorry, that you're a whinny "fan" whose theories didn't pan out, sorry that you guys think that you OWN the franchise because you're 'fans' (and yes, fans are important, vital, but not these petulant children who throw hissy fits because they can't get their way).

This franchise is near and dear to MANY MANY MILLIONS of people world wide, so just because you didn't like it and are now "vowing" to no longer be a 'fan' let me tell you, you were never truly a "fan" and if you decide to no longer be part of the 'fandom,' I say "Good riddance" because we won't miss ya and quite frankly, we're SOOO better off without you.

For those who enjoyed it and at least have an open mind about the film, I think we need a reminder, that our community is built on acceptance, tolerance and openness. And even though I might not sound so open, at the moment, I remember what Star Wars truly means to me, and how important it is to be a tolerant fan, because at one point in time, we were outcasts, and I think we've slowly forgotten that. Our community was build of dreamers, who had impossible dreams, but they strived through, regardless and told their stories (and were given that chance). Let's remember THAT, let's remember where we came from, so our next generations, can look back and be proud of our community/fandoms.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was...

I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of ...

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. (See w...
