To Reboot or not to Reboot, that is the question.

Yes, I'm aware that it is a very cheesy and over hyped line, but since we're going into over done things, well I guess it is very appropriate. I am aware that in the past I have whined about reboots/ remakes and the like, specially concerning classics that most of us grew up with and fell in love with. But i will admit that rebooting/remaking and making it away to introduce to younger audiences some of the franchises that we enjoyed in our chilhood is not always a bad idea. For example, I just covered (last post) about the Power Rangers movie and comic book that is coming out. I think it's an incredible idea. The up and coming sequel for ID4 (Independence Day, duh) seems like a well thought out screen, story line that I'm actually psyched on about. But obviously, there are the disappointments and the reason i am cautious about remakes/reboots. The new TMNT, was horrendous, not to mention Transformers franchise (except for the first) , it's unbearalbe. And n...

The Nostalgia Capitalism... and why Robert Zemeckis is my new Hero!

Hewoh my lovelies! Ok, well, as many of you may know just recently most of the world celebrated the release of Back to the Future in theaters back in the hayday (I want to say, 1985), but anyways. just to make ya feel old!! Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale put their feet down on Hollywood! Any who, so, recently (and of course various news sources reported this) Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale (the geniuses responsible for this classic) were recently asked if they would ever consider a 'remake' of this iconic film, which they both said a resounding 'N....O!!'  And for that I'm ever thankful for them!! Finally, two people have the guts to say to Hollywood and their 'remakes, late sequels' NO!  Seriously, I find it a bit disturbing, that yes, it's nice to reminisce of yester years blockbusters, and the movies that basically made up our childhoods (80s and 90s kids, and NO, you are not a 90s kid if you were born in 1999, don't kid yourself!).  I h...
