New Year , Events and Items.

A  New Year, another 361 days of opportunities, cons, events, celebrations and acquiring even more Geeky items that send our hearts a-flutter! Being a Geek is an exhausting thing, but we wouldn't have it any other way. With that being said, what do I bring you this fine day? Welcome to the Perky Nerd! FCBD 2017 as just announced on their website huge exclusive previews for this year's event! Not only do they have quite a variety of previews this year, they also have DC Top Secret previess, that won't be released until that day. They have also organized their comics this year, by tiers, which is extremely  helpful: Gold & Silver. Oh, the Geekiness!!

I feel like sometimes I just blink for a second, and there are even more exciting news in the world of Geekdom. A New Companion for The Doctor:  So, if you, for some miraculous reason have not heard, over the weekend BBC unveiled not only a teaser spot for the upcoming season 10 of Doctor Who, but a new companion was introduced just along with it. Yes, a NEW companion was introduced. The sky will fall, I know. (Source: metro.co.uk) So far what we know about this new companion is very little, just that her name is Bill and she will be portrayed by Pearl Mackie. What makes Bill so special is that she is a companion of color. Yes, you heard right, Bill is black. She will join the only other companion who was not white (Freema Agyeman). Many news articles have started to praise the BBC decision(with the director/producer) to add Bill into the long and treasured list of companions. From what I can tell, is that I am excited and hopeful to see more diversity on Doctor ...

And a collective and very well resounding F**K YOU might be necessary and in order. So, it has been a very rough start for Geekdom/Nerdom, because as all the world knows, this month took away from us, The Goblin King, aka Mr. Starman himself and the uniquely talented Alan Rickman. Their loss has been heartfelt and felt throughout many many mediums, countries, cities, etc. And who could blame us? Both were absolutely beyond talented, and any acollade that I can think of would not do them any justice, whatsoever. And, as many of you can see, I took a while to post (yet again) not so much because I didn't want to or would have liked to, but out of respect for not only talented artists, but for their grieving families, as well. I know many mediums reported on this because it is their jobs to bring the latest news, but this is my hobby, not my job. I like reaching whoever likes to read my comments, reviews and overall ideas that are floatng inside my head. But I do underst...
