Kubo & the Two Strings Review

Hello kiddies! As promised, once again here is a new post for you guys to hopefully enjoy 😆.  Source: denofgeek.com Let's set art shall we?! OK, over the weekend I was finally able to go watch a movie on the big screen, so we (family and I) decided to go see Kubo and the Two Strings , which by the look of the trailers seemed like a movie we would enjoy and here is basically what I thought about it...  Set in ancient Japan, it has an amazing background filled with diverse characters and unique visuals of celebrations of Japanese culture. From he beginning we get amazing glimpse of Japanese folklore, culture and the importance of ancestors throughout the film. Visually stunning and detailed, the film reels he audince from the get go.  Unique story line, it does elements of a adventure/quest, but with he combination of graphics, animation and games, the story is very unique and we can definitely identify and sympathize with film. Compelling characters fr...

Bastards, Dragons & Demi-Gods.

Hello kiddies! Oh how have I missed writing to you guys!! Sorry I have not been able to publish at least once these couple of weeks, and yes, I do remember I did promise you guys to try to publish as much as I had been. Sowwy! It's been a roller coaster for me, from my weird schedule for work, and all the drama that's happen, it has been a bit hard to get my mood into writing. But I'm back!! OMG, there are SOOO many news that I need to tell you guys, if you guys still haven't heard of. So where to start? The Battle of the Bastards O.k. HBO better deliver this very and I mean VERY anticipated battle (after the fiasco with Cleganebowl of last Sunday) and as always, the internet realm is a buzz with theories and expectations for this upcoming battle. Who will win? Who will perish? Well i do hope that is NOT everyone's favorite bastard (and I'm not talking about Ramsay, 😜). Also I'm hoping that Jon Snow will not die, since he technically already d...

How DeadPool's 'R' rating is setting precendence to future movies...

I will make a quick confession, I have not yet been able to watch 'Deadpool' in theaters due to the fact that a couple of days before the release date, my stupid leg decided to suffer a tear on my meniscus and thus I will be needing surgery on March 1st. THAT being said, for this post, I don't need to see it, just to comment on the obvious that many sources have been catching up on. First of, a huge congratulations is in order to Ryan Reynolds & company for the overwhelming reception and blockbuster for ' Deadpool '. It is well deserved and a long time coming from the fiasco that was Green Lantern. Source: www.imdb.com Now, ever since it was announced that there would be a Deadpool movie, many critics and fans, a like were vigilant from the get GO, whether the movie would have a R rating or would it cater more towards a PG or PG-13 rating, in order to make it more "kid" or "family" friendly. For fans of the Deadpool comics, we se...

I'M BACK!!

I'M BAACKK!! as many of you can see, after a while of going AWOL on everyone. What happened to me?Where have I been? Did I fall from the face of the earth?! So many questions!! To be honest, for a while I had lost the motivation (and at times the will) to even get out of bed. It's been a long time since I've battled depression and it takes a toll on me at various times.  So, I used this time to just chill, and recuperate in order to have a better outlook on life. So, instead of giving you all a sad sob story, I will spare you guys the details and let's get going to talk about what I love the most...GEEK STUFF/CULTURE/FANDOMS, etc. 1.)  Our Spidey sense are tingling!! For those unaware I have a FB account, and I do subscribe to various outlets of information for Geeks and all about Geek interests, any ways, I'm sure by now, everyone and their mothers' know that Sony has already chosen (officially) a new actor to play Peter Parker/Spider-man. And the l...

BIG HERO 6 Review

Yesterday it finally happened, we went to see Big Hero 6!! And I truly had an incredible time and thoroughly enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. (I also think my daughter did not blink  because she was THAT entertained by Baymax) Big Hero 6 is a huge, HUGE difference from last years disappointment that is known as FROZEN. I couldn't stand it. The opening song is basically not just a foreshadowing of what's to come in the movie, but it actually is the entire movie, sung. No real suspense, not really a female empowerment theme, it's just bland. For me at least, not even Olaf could save it. And now with Big Hero 6, you can tell that the story was better thought through. There's definitely better character interaction and development. From Tadashi, Hiro, Honey, Baymax, and the rest of the characters, there is more of a connection. I could identify with them. But ultimately, I think I can identify (just like everyone else does) myself with is Bay...

DC, what are you doing?!

Ok, in all fairness, you must  be warned: this is a sort of gripe-y post, and these are just my personal problems with what DC is doing so far with it's direction in t.v. & film wise. Let it be known that, I am absolutely enjoying the New 52, and there is not much to complain about. So, here I go! DC, what are you doing?! (points accusatory finger) First I would like to address the fact that there are fantastic things that you are doing with your t.v. shows ( Flash & Arrow) , which I could be as thrilled with Gotham. I must admit that I have been hooked by The Flash  and Arrow. I watched the premier of The Flash  and from the get go, I absolutely freakin' enjoyed it, and I wish that it was only a longer show. I seriously love the nods to the comics, and I love the casting that was done for the show and the character development. Same goes for Arrow , I seriously feel like each episode is like me going to new comic book Wednesday and ac...
