Let's not get Carried away.

While rummaging around the internet, as one does, I found a really distressing rumor/idea/proposal of a petition to ask Meryl Streep to be General Leia in the upcoming Star Wars installment. Yup, if you haven't heard this news by now, um, where have you been living?! But in all seriousness, SAY WHAT?! Whomever thought this was a good idea, NEEDS TO STOP. Don't get me wrong, I love Meryl Streep just like the next person. I think she's a wonderful actress who can either play loving mothers, or downright b*tches. And this has NOTHING to do with her quality of work, or as a personal friend of the late Carrie Fisher, but SERIOUSLY?! Pinterest Ok, we get it, she played a 'version' of Carrie Fisher in 'Postcards from the Edge'  but how does this qualify her to don the magnificent dresses and iconic status of General Leia Organa Solo?! In what universe? Was the person who came up with this idea, drunk at the time? Princess/General Leia is an icon...

So Much More than a Princess: A Book Review

As of late (2016 & this year) it seems a lot of our beloved actors/actresses have been departing us too soon, and to say the least, Carrie Fisher (and her Mom) was definitely one of the loss that was truly felt around the globe. Whether you know her as 'Princess Leia' or from her books, Carrie touched many. She was witty, voracious, intelligent, witty, etc. amazon.com Her last book " The Princess Diarist " is all of that and more. I'm sure so many of us, while she was promoting it, had heard of it due to the fact that she reveals that she had that affair with the one and only Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Obviously, the media picked this up due to the fact that this secret had been kept for such a long time, but this book reveals so much more, a different side to Carrie. If you haven't picked up a copy, do yourself a favor and purchase it, because it is beyond hilarious, and so Carrie. At first, the idea of having a book with pages of a journ...

In Loving Memory to a Princess in A Galaxy Far Far Away.

In a world full of Princesses needing to be rescued by their Knight in Shinning Armor, Princess Leia taught many little girls that you can rescue yourself. Today, the world all ovet mourns the loss of a true icon, cross-generational, inspiring human being and incredible actress, Carrie Fisher. Princess Leia was different, strong-willed, resourceful, intelligent, brilliant diplomat, fearless. As a little girl I wanted to be just like her, because she resembled my own characteristics. I didn't want to be rescued, I wanted to write my own happy ending, I wanted to be different. And in front of me, was this character who embodied everything I hoped to be when I would grow up. Carrie as an actress was unconventiaonal, inspiring because she was human, not a plastic, un-realistic version of a person, she was real with flaws and many more qualities. There are no words to sufficiently describe how much she meant to me and how deeply I am feeling her passing. To her family, loved o...
