Showing posts with the label t.v. shows

Saying Goodbye to Captain America's #1 Girl.

Hello kiddies!! By now most of you have already heard that ABC has announced various names of t.v. shows that are and will be cancelled and to a lot angry fans one of those shows on the chomping block is Agent Carter. Like many of you I'm very sad to hear this announcement. I think that we had yet to see so much more from our favorite leading agent. But unfortunately that is the decision of the studio. And what are my thoughts on this? Because you all know I can never just BE quiet, lol.  Well, I like many of you think that not only did the studio make a huge mistake, they went the easier route. And what do I mean by this? Well, first of yes I am aware that Agent Carter was originally meant to be a filler show while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was on hiatus, but from the beginning when they realized that this show meant to a lot of fans, specifically women, instead of kind of advertising they should have tried a better attempt to have it have more exposure.  And by ...

By the Old Gods and New!!

Helloo kiddies!!  For those of you who might have bumped into a couple of my posts in the past, you know that 1. I don't like to be a "Debbie Downer" or just mainly a whiner and 2. I am adamant about spoilers. And what does this post have to do with the above mentioned?! Absolutely nothing... just kidding. It actually has to do more with #1 than #2, but I guess #2 sort of ties in, a bit. Anywhoo... my point is that I have a little confession to make, I did not (on purpose) watched at season 5 and some episodes of season 4 of HBO's Game of Thrones. Yes, I know the Old Gods and New will curse me for eternity! And here is one of, or should I say the main reason why I actively decided not to watch, was because the parts of the story line that were introduced by the creative team in the show were just not interesting enough for me and were somewhat infurating to say the least. Yes, I have read ALL of the books and YES, I am aware that HBO and their creative t...

More D.C. Superhero Girls...

Under normal circumstances I'm usually the one who loves to sleep in whenever possible, specially on the weekends, but who doesn't? Anywhoo, last Saturday was a bit different because the 1st episode (of many, I hope) of D.C. Superhero Girls  aired on Boomerang. So, before the scheduled airdate I promptly got up (well as promptly as one can w/crutches,lol) woke up my 8 year old daughter and we headed to the livingroom to watch. Yes, I am aware that the main target audience is 7 and up, but I absolutely loved the concept since it was announced. I love the fact that DC (and Marvel too) is making a concious effort to include future geeklings of the feminine persuassion. So, of course I was not going to miss this opportunity! Here is my opinion... I absolutely loved the message for the premiere episode, girl power and being confident in who you are. The episode starts with Supergirl getting accepted to Superhero High, where she will learn to control her super powers an...

I'M BACK!!

I'M BAACKK!! as many of you can see, after a while of going AWOL on everyone. What happened to me?Where have I been? Did I fall from the face of the earth?! So many questions!! To be honest, for a while I had lost the motivation (and at times the will) to even get out of bed. It's been a long time since I've battled depression and it takes a toll on me at various times.  So, I used this time to just chill, and recuperate in order to have a better outlook on life. So, instead of giving you all a sad sob story, I will spare you guys the details and let's get going to talk about what I love the most...GEEK STUFF/CULTURE/FANDOMS, etc. 1.)  Our Spidey sense are tingling!! For those unaware I have a FB account, and I do subscribe to various outlets of information for Geeks and all about Geek interests, any ways, I'm sure by now, everyone and their mothers' know that Sony has already chosen (officially) a new actor to play Peter Parker/Spider-man. And the l...

DC, what are you doing?!

Ok, in all fairness, you must  be warned: this is a sort of gripe-y post, and these are just my personal problems with what DC is doing so far with it's direction in t.v. & film wise. Let it be known that, I am absolutely enjoying the New 52, and there is not much to complain about. So, here I go! DC, what are you doing?! (points accusatory finger) First I would like to address the fact that there are fantastic things that you are doing with your t.v. shows ( Flash & Arrow) , which I could be as thrilled with Gotham. I must admit that I have been hooked by The Flash  and Arrow. I watched the premier of The Flash  and from the get go, I absolutely freakin' enjoyed it, and I wish that it was only a longer show. I seriously love the nods to the comics, and I love the casting that was done for the show and the character development. Same goes for Arrow , I seriously feel like each episode is like me going to new comic book Wednesday and ac...
