Proud Geek Mom moment.

Phew! It's been a while since I posted on here. No, I have not forgotten about this blog, and yes, I'm still writing on it because it's fun. WoW has kinda taken over my free time to be honest (No, I don't have a problem, lol) and also just life in general has been a roller coaster, specially these past couple of weeks. But now I find myself having a bit of more time, so I'm here 😁. As many by now know realize that I am a Geek, but I'm also a parent. And even though I've come to terms and acceptance with my geekiness, that doesn't mean that my daughter has to be one as well. But, as all parents do, I like to share with her things that I think she might enjoy. We (the Mr. and I) got her into WoW, because she developed a genuine curiosity for it. I didn't coarse her or influence her into it. She also has her own little niches, like Minecraft, Undertale, etc. But most importantly, we let her make her own choice when it comes to what she likes and wh...

Ready Player One (Film) Review

Alright, yes this review is most likely late, since the movie has been out for a while and I'm pretty sure that many of you have seen it. But, first, I'm a slow reader, ok?! Second, it's hard for me to keep up with all the movies that I would like to go see, so sue me, lol. ( Don't really sue me though, cuz' I have lots of bills to pay, thanks ) Moving on, so, yes, I (of all days, I know) just watched the film adaptation of Ernest Cline's "Ready Player One"  and yes, I've read the book before hand. And let me tell you, that the studio wasn't kidding when they said that they had 'adapted' the film from the movie. And we all know what that means, that the script took liberties (many) in the events from the book. The essence of the story IS there, but I did have some issues regarding some points in the film. The story itself felt rushed, the characters were introduced too fast and it seemed like the audience was expected to grow an...

The Geek Revolution.

Hello kiddies! O.k. so searching the internet for interesting topics, articles to share with you, I bumped into this article by Geek and Sundry, where it mentioned that Valentino and other high end artistis/creators are starting to take note and interest in Geek/Nerd culture and mainly fashion.  The article references Valentino doing a Wonder Woman "inspired" collection and also made a reference to M.A.C. releasing a make-up line for the 50th anniversary for Star Trek. Which, I also had mentioned this in previous posts (sans Valentino/Wonder Woman collection) and as I kept reading, i seriously started to get a gut wretching feeling about what i was just hearing. Let me make this VERY clear, I AM in favor of celebrating MY community. And I'm saying this in MY POV. I do not OWN the Geek Community, nor am I the "LEADER" of a autonomous community that is made up of so many diverse people and POV's. I get it, but I do care about a community that I bel...
