Oh, the Geekiness!!

I feel like sometimes I just blink for a second, and there are even more exciting news in the world of Geekdom.

A New Companion for The Doctor:
So, if you, for some miraculous reason have not heard, over the weekend BBC unveiled not only a teaser spot for the upcoming season 10 of Doctor Who, but a new companion was introduced just along with it.

Yes, a NEW companion was introduced.

The sky will fall, I know.

So far what we know about this new companion is very little, just that her name is Bill and she will be portrayed by Pearl Mackie.

What makes Bill so special is that she is a companion of color. Yes, you heard right, Bill is black.

She will join the only other companion who was not white (Freema Agyeman). Many news articles have started to praise the BBC decision(with the director/producer) to add Bill into the long and treasured list of companions.

From what I can tell, is that I am excited and hopeful to see more diversity on Doctor Who and of course, I can't wait for season 10 to start.

And apparently aside from our beloved 900-year old Gallifreyan, we also got to see that once again (in the premier episode) will be fighting his arch-nemesis the Daleks.

Many news sources have started to guess Bill's personality as spunky, Geeky and delightful, but like always, I will reserve any commentary until I watch the episodes and see how her character will fit and play out throughout the series.

I cannot say I will or will not like her, all I can do is hope that she leaves her own special mark on a long running and beloved series.

Are you guys excited for season 10?! Hopeful for Bill?! Leave your comments below and let me  know!

Moving on... back when Geek culture was mainly less main stream, there was a lingering stereotype that Geeks/Nerds had no sense of  style or fashion. We preferred brains over looks, but now a days, we have evolved, and although we still mainly prefer intellect over fashion, we have also embraced it. We've found a way to not conform to fashion norms, but to think outside the box and incorporate fashion into our Geekdom.

Now, we can have our cake and eat it too!

Specially for Geek/Nerdy Women who have a bit more trouble finding suitable clothing that we can rock out in while still screaming to the world that we love our chosen fandom.

And a great example of this is the following:

ThinkGeek+Harry Potter + Corsets= Fabulousness.

Through Fashionably Geeky, I was made aware that ThinkGeek had come up with incredibly Hogwarts Houses themed corsets. Yes, now you can show your Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin House pride with corsets!

And from what I saw, the only proper way to describe them, is GORGEOUS!

From the detailing, embroidery, vibrant color, it is just absolutely delightful and it is definitely a piece that is very well worth the purchase.

From what is shown in the picture, the corsets are beautifully embroidered and come in the Hogwarts house colors and emblems. I was genuinely surprised that the sale price was $34.99 (tax+shipping excluded) and they come in sizes 2X & 3X for more curvier women! I love the concept that these corsets sizes are not just thoughtout for skinnier built women, but they considered most body shapes, YAY!

And from what I can tell, the faux corsets (I guess, they are pseudo corsets, but who cares, they are awesome!) are officially licensed and are also available for purchase at hottopic.com, as well.

So, girls get ready to glam it up, put on your best skirt and show your House Colors with pride!!

HerUniverse-The Force Awakens Fashion is Unleashed:

And continuing on with the Geektacular fashion, a day ago or so, HerUniverse has released their new TFA clothing line, that is to die for!!

No, seriously, they have amazing styles that they make it seriously hard NOT to spend your hard earn cash.

If you're not familiar with HerUniverse brand, it is an independent clothing company that caters to Geek/Nerd women and culture. They sell from cardigan, hoodies, t-shirts, leggins and much more spectacular clothing at pretty good prices.

Now, if you are expecting to get their clothing for $20 or so, no, but for them to be somewhat independent and what they use for in material, shipping, manufacturing, it is a pretty decent and fair price.

I'm pretty sure many  of you know or are familiar with their brand and the quality if you have popped in recently to Hot Topic stores.

From what I could tell the sizes are also range for smaller to more plus sizes. I love that HerUniverse has always taken into consideration women who are on the curvier side. Hey, we want to look cute as well, and thanks to companies like this one, we can rock out in an awesome BB8-inspired dress that shows off our curves!

Anywhoo, before I go on a tangent, I leave you with the link to Hot Topic online store so you can check out the amazing pieces! Go Wild!

O.k. so you got the dress, your make up is on point, you picked up heels that go with your outfit, but you need a handbag to go with your entire ensemble. You go into your closet but you've shown off all of your purses? Well do not fret, because Loungefly has also released new Star Wars inspired handbags to chose from.

Similar to HerUniverse, Hot Topic and ThinkGeek, Lougefly caters more to our unique fashion sense. And just recently they came up with new Star Wars inspired handbags that I thought you guys might want to check out.

http://fashionablygeek.com/bags/star-wars-loungefly-bags/

According to Fashionably Geek, some of these bags aren't necessarily "new" per se, but they are now available for purchase or re-purchase,  I suppose?

Either way, they are amazing and if I say so myself, the quality is amazing. I personally own two handbags from Loungefly and they are absolutely gorgeous. Everywhere I go, I get complimented for them. They are sturdy, durable and incredibly detailed. I truly recommend this brand for those of you who might want to give them a shot.

At the time when I purchased my bags, they come (inside the actual bag) with actual protective black bags so they don't get scratched on or dirty. So, yes, is it worth spending your money on? ABSOLUTELY!!

Here is an image of one of the bags that I purchased. Please keep in mind that this isn't the ones that are now available, but if you like this style, i recommend going to Loungefly's website or Hot Topic for more info. on how to acquire this particular style.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of
