Magical Beginings, Rogue Stories and Geek Chic Fashion

Alright, it's taken me a couple of days to digest EVERYTHING that has been going on in/around the community.

And it's not so much, that I like bringing news or information late, it's also due to the fact that i have to also keep up with my physical therapy for my knee, sowy.

ANYWHOO, here we go!

OMG, if anyone and everyone has up to this point have NOT seen the teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars story, you REALLY must.

Ever since the acquisition of Lucasfilm and Star Wars by Disney (and also that Disney basically deemed the EU non-cannon) I have mainly have been wanting to stick with the MAIN storyline.

And why, you may be wondering, well it is because, I grew up in the 90s when the EU WAS cannon (not only were the stories incredible, but they were sanctioned by Lucas himself) and as you can imagine, I was seriously pissed when Disney announced that EU was no longer viable, I (like many other fans) were skeptical and honestly (at least in my case) put off by non main storylines (Rebels).

So, as you can imagine, when I saw the teaser for Rogue One, I was a bit jittery, but I have been proven wrong. The teaser looks amazing and more so do to the storyline and the point in which it unfolds.

If you're a bit confused, the storyline for Rogue One unfolds between Episode III and IV. And from what we've seen in the teaser, it basically is the story of the formation of the Rebel Alliance.

One of the things that I was impressed by is the actress that was hired to play young Mon Mothma. Holy cow, it looks like the original actress but with an incredble face lift!

I'm also delighted to see new characters being introduced, specially the female lead. It looks like she will be a key character in the Star Wars universe. But she is not the only interesting character, there are many questions and characters that still need to be known. Since this film will take place in between the main story line, will Vader make an appearance? Or for that matter any of the other beloved Star Wars characters that we know of? Will Ben Kenobi, Uncle Owen, or a very young Luke (Leia) make a cameo? There are many unanswered questions that we will be finding out (possibly) when this movie comes out. So, is it worth getting excited over? YES, definitely YES.

One thing that has concerned me was that as soon as the teaser was released, many (and I mean MANY) fan theorists started speculating that the main female character, might be Rey's mom with Luke.

At this point it is one theory within MANY MANY theories and as fun it is to speculate, we must remember that we can't loose our heads or civility over this. No one knows (except the people working on the project) all we know is that she seems to be an important character and that is about it.

Will we be given a bit more when and if they decide to release a full trailer? Sure, but even then, it will be only speculation. My point is, there is nothing wrong with having theories, but mainly having internet fights and disrepecting others who do not see your point of view is simply unacceptable.

Like I've metioned it before, I will not spoil ANYTHING for anyone because (and I don't want people to spoil it for me, either) I want to go into the theaters with a blank opinion and be either amazed or not.

I just went off on a tangent, hehe.

I leave you guys with the teaser:

Wingardium Leviosa!

I really do hope that by the time the actual movie (or for that matter any other movie) comes out, I can actually go see it, because it really does suck not being able to go to the movies and watch the films that you are genuinely excited for.

Anywhoo, talking about teasers and trailers over the weekend we were delighted with another trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and that is another film that I'm super psyched about.

Not only am I excited due to the fact that we get to go back to the Wizarding World, but we get to see even more of it, outside the massive walls of Hogwarts, yay!

Eddie Redmayne's role as Newt Scamander seems a perfect fit. He brings an air of delight, whinsy, seriousness all in one. So, I'm truly hoping he doesn't disappoint in the film. Also, in the new trailer lots of enoyable references make cameos which makes it even more awesome, since it has been a while for Potterheads all over the world, that have been taken back to the Wizarding World. And to be quite honest, we've had Potter/Wizarding World withdrawals. It truly looks like a magical movie that I'm sure was worth the wait.

Either way, I'm so ready for the release and I hope that by time (or A LOT sooner) I will be able to sit in the theater, with my bucket of popcorn, soda while enjoying the film.

For the mean time, I leave you guys with the link to the newest trailer:

Geek Chic and where to find it:

For those of us who have been in the community for a while, it has never been easier to find clothes (or for that matter clothing lines) that celebrate our fandoms, this is specially harder when you are a girl/woman, where the fandoms mainly aim the merchandise towards our male counterparts.

And ever since, GEEK has been the new IT, DC, Marvel and other big companies have finally realized that Geek women, also want awesome gear and merch that celebrates their feminity and their love of their fandom.

A couple of weeks back I reported that M.A.C. will be releasing their Star Trek inspired make up line sometime this year.

So, now Hot Topic has announced that in celebration of the new Powerpuff cartoon and the success of DC Bombshells, they will also be exclusively releasing their respective clothing line.

By the look of both DC Bombshells and Powerpuff clothing lines, we seriously need to either start saving up or win the lotto, because it is absolutely adorable and awesome!!

It has pastel colored Sailors and I believe a mini coin purse that hangs outstide.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of
