Hello kiddies!!!
Once again I find myself writing to bring you interesting news from our favorite internet sources to keep you (and myself) updated on what's going on in the world of Geekdom/Nerdom.
So, let's begin, shall we?!
M.A.C. + Star Trek= Fabulousness:
For those of you who aren't necessarily Trekkies/Trekkers, this year will mark the 50th anniversary of the premier of Star Trek TOS (The Original Series). Well it looks like in celebration the the cosmetic line is teaming up with Star Trek and will be releasing make up inspired by the women in the series. I think that it is a fabulous idea! We definitely need representation in this industry.
Just like last year, Cover Girl in celebration of The Force Awakens released their Star Wars make up line, we need this for long time Trekkies. According to the article, the line was going to be inspired by 7of 9, Uhura, Green Alien, and Deanna Troi. The only 'but' that I had was, what about Dr. Crusher?! That was basically my only 'but,' aside from that, I can't wait for them to unvail the makeup line. More so, I hope they end up expanding it because quite frankly there are many strong female characters to be inspred by for incredible products.
Of course, here is the article:

What are your thoughts? Are you excited?! Will you be acquiring the make up when it comes out?! Let me know on the comment section below.
Disney: Monopoly or Enterprising?
While scouting through the internet to find interesting news, I bumped into this article by moviepilot.com that stated that in 2017 Disney is going to hold D23 around the same time as SDCC. Which means that when they do hold it, they can reserve the right to show case Marvel, Star Wars, trailers, exclusive promos, etc, that are under the parent company, Disney. This also means that SDCC 2017 would not be showcasing anything that belongs to the big mouse. There are pros and cons to them doing this.
Moviepilot wrote that if Disney held properties did not showcase at this years Mecca of Nerdom, they would leave room for other companies to showcase exclusives and promos at this years con. While those who really go for the big hitters like Marvel, would get an opportunity to go to the D23 to get exclusive content from the films they want to see/hear about.
Here's the problem that I see, it is a double edge sword, and to be honest, a bit unfair.
Yes, it gives other studios (Universal, Warner Brothers) more breathing room and less competition, but at the same time, it is unfair for attendees, because going to SDCC is frightengly expensive. Just trying to save up an entire year ahead is hard enough, now saving up for TWO mega events that are probably weeks apart from each other is just cruel.
Many of us work, have bills to pay and for Disney to do this is absolutely wrong. How dare they try to make us choose.
I honestly think it is overreaching. Disney, yes you hold Marvel, Star Wars, some of the biggest frnachises, but you are not the ONLY ones, and making it inaccessible for your fans is (at least to me) ungrateful. It is because of US, the fans, that we go and buy your merchandise, etc, and to make it potentially only for the d23 event feels like you guys are only thinking of the $$$ and not the fans.
Yes, you guys are in it for the profit, but please don't forget about the fans.
Either way, however they decide, I only hope that they can think about the fans and realize that many of us we don't have the $$ for two major events without sacrificing the other.

4.26.16- No one will hear you scream:
Last year we had 'Back to the Future Day,' every year we have 'Batman Day' and 'Free Comic Book Day,' and now the Alien franchise will have their own day, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Ridley Scott's "Alien" franchise.
And in honor of this important date in cinema history, Reebok will be releasing limited edition 'Alien' inspired sneakers.
Yes, you read right, they will be releasing sneakers inspired by the ones worn in the movie.
Are you guys excited for 4.26.16? How will you be celebrating, marathon? Just make sure how ever it is, there are no eggs hatching!!
