Hello Kiddies! I hope that you guys (yes, you who took time from their busy schedule to read my shenanigans) had an awesome weekend. Or at least I'm hoping that your weekend wasn't as torturous as it would be (for those of us who STILL have work on weekends), anywhoo, so, lets get down to business!
Over the years, I have had the faintest idea ::: insert sarcasm ::: that being a Geek/Nerd is not only incredfible fun, but also seriously dangerous to my wallet. Why do i say this? Because, as much as I love knowing that collectible, clothing, accessories are more and more accessible now a days, it has also started to be a bit heavier on my $$.
Now, I don't go buy EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that comes out that is Nerd/Geek related, but the items that I do buy, aren't necessarily too expensive or cheap, they're just a bit too many, lol.
By all means I AM not whinning, but I do like to joke, that being a Geek/Nerd is not only NOT for the weak but for the penniless.
Set your Phaser to HUGS:
There are TOO many awesome items that I want to get, but I also have these pesky bills to cover, ugh! Decisions, decisions... do I pay my electric bill or buy myself that incredible Batman inspired bag?!
Yep, these are many, (and too often) of the decisions many of us, surely have had to make as of late.
And when you finally say " I'll just buy this ONE thing and that is it.." the wonderful world of the internet and companies, whip out ANOTHER item, and make you either CHOOSE or just modify your original statement.
And here to prove my point:
Entertainment Earth took made an announcement that, Gund (toy plush company) will be releasing in July in honor of Star Trek's 50th anniversary, these amazingly, cuddly and absolute worth having plushies with TOS uniforms.

They are available for pre-order (as of April 8th) and once you take a look at them, your wallet will be empty. It looks like for now, they will only release the original crew of the NC-1701.
Dance Magic Dance:
And for a very very good reason. So, River Horse (Boardgame Company) in partnership with The Jim Henson, CO. has decided to release a Labyrinth Board Game for the summer.
Yes, you heard right, they will be releasing a Labyrinth Gameboard that apparently includes, miniatures of Sarah, Jareth, Hoggle, Ludo and Sir Didymus.
And from the look of the pictures (from GeekxGirls.com) the miniatures looked absolutely incredibly detailed. There is no word, yet, WHEN in the summer the gameboard will be released, but the article does provide a direct link to the gameboard company, River Horse, if you want to find out more on when and how much it will cost.

So, for those table top enthusiasts out there, start planning a game night, gather some friends and get ready to experience the world of Labyrinth!
Star Wars AGAIN on the Big Screen?!
So, scouting on the internet (and although it may not necessarily have to do with items/collectibles that you can acquire) for news, I bumped into The Verge's article announcing that there is a plan to release all 3 original Star Wars films (Episode IV, V, and VI) on the big screen again. But from what I read, it will only be select theaters and it will be the 1997 re-edited.
Which means?! Which means (for those who were not around at the time) that they will be releasing the ones that got cleaned up and slightly f**ed up by Lucas.
So, if you don't mind the "slight" changes of the 1997 re-release version of the original three, then I leave you the link below, so you can find out if the films will be playing near you.

To be honest, I would seriously hold my money for these. Why?! because although I do own the VHS 1997 Special Edition, and this re-release is FAR more tolerable than the atraucities of the "edited" versions that were released AFTER, it is still not the same than the original UN-EDITED version that many of us grew to love. As for me, I will be keeping my $$ and instead start looking for a VHS player so, whenever I feel like, pop in the original 1977, 1982, 1984 versions.
But, if you were too young to even remember even the 1997 Special Edition theatrical release, then it will be a great opportunity to see the original films as they were meant to be seen, on the big screen. That is if you can mind the changes, or just wait for Episode VIII to come out.
Til' next time!!
