Oh, THE FEELS, THE FEELS!!

So, finally today... Wait where are my manners?! 😱 Happy Holidays to all of you kiddies!!! Hoping you got to enjoy the festivities, food and company. ⛄❄⛄❄⛄ Anyway, as I was saying, finally today we got the chance to watch STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS at our local movie theater and let me first say that my "review" will be spoiler free, for those who still have not yet had the opportunity to go see it.  ALL the excitement from my childhood came flooding back as I sat there and saw familiar faces and get to love me ones as well. Source: screenrant.com It had the perfect balance between comedic, tender, heartbreaking moments.  The ending point for this first installment was adequate with many unanswered questions, but I believe that is what the movie is aiming for.  Some of the new faces that definitely stood out for me was Rey, BB8, Finn, Kylo and Poe. The film those have a couple of mysteries that have yet not been completely mentioned not defi

PERHAPS TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GEEK!

Hello kiddies!! No, I did not die, but it almost feels like I did. Sorry i have not been able to post anything these past two months, but for us poor mortals who need to work in order to pay bills, this season is one of the busiest, specially for those who work in retail (ahem, like i do). So, if you also work retail, or have ever been tortured to do so (at some point in your life), i  basically do not have a life. I sold my soul to the Retail God, and as of late, I've been non existant. Any ways, so today I had the energy to post, so here we go!! For those who have not noticed this year has been our year, since sci-fi, comics based, fantasy, etc genres have been dominating the big screen, and to that I say, it's about time!! So, not only has our community been anxiously waiting for The Force Awakens, but just today, Team Roddenberry released the trailer for Star Trek Beyond. And to tell you the truth, I'm pretty psyched about it! Not only are we being introduce

Comikaze Expo 2015 Review...

Hello kiddies!!  As promised I'm back from this year's Comikaze Expo. at the L.A. Covention Center. So, without further delays, here is my review of this year's excellent adventure! 1') Overall Organization- it was well organized, despite being held at a massive place like the L.A. Convention Center. The guide of events and map of the venue was helpful (although, the map was a bit small, that it was hard to read). What made it extremely helpful was that there were signs posted all over the place to guide you and let you make a determination of where you needed to go or be. Parking, despite being $30 fee, it was secure and worth the cost instead of trying to leave your car parked in public places, but risk being vandalized or ticketed.  2.) Staff & Vendors- The staff working this year was enthusiastic, helpful and overall welcoming. If you had any questions they were ready and willing to help. Staff was able to be identified easily by their bright

READY TO NERD OUT AT STAN LEE'S COMIKAZE 2015 (Sunday)

I'm not dead!! I promise you kiddies that I'm still very much alive & it won't be so easy to get rid of me, except if it is work. Work has been brutal, COMPLETELY drastic work schedule from when I started working for my current employer, phew! And to top it off October has been a whirlwind, since in the beginning of this month my daughter fell sick (her asthma went out of control) and she had to be hospitalized for two days. BUUT, I am back and with a special announcement: I was keeping it hush-hush for a bit because I wasn't sure if I would be allowed the day off or not, but the good news is that I was able to convince "Umbridge" aka: my boss, to give me this Sunday off in order to attend: STAN LEE'S COMIKAZE EXPO!!! Source: Stanleescomikaze.com Yes, yours truly will be there with the many other souls that will be attending on that particular day. And you guys cannot imagine how ECSTATIC I am... my first Con in MANY, MANY years!!

'THE WITCH'S FAMILIAR': REACTION & REVIEW

Source: www.ign.com, Property: BBC/BBC America It took me an entire day to fully digest last night's Doctor Who episode!! Basically, they had my heart on a string and kept tugging at it that I thought i might not have made it until the end. But, here I am, still here, in one piece. So, kiddies here is my small & insignificant contribution to last night: Highlights: 1.) My constant panic at & concerning Missy betraying The Doctor and/or Clara (or in that case both). We all know that The Master has teamed up in the past with The Doctor when it is either convinient or they have a common enemy. But her/his unpredictability to switching sides is a constant reminder for us the viewers, that she should & must not be trusted. 2.) Direct reference when Clara was convinced, by MIssy no less, to get inside the Dalek. Evoking the first time Clara (Oswin Oswald) met The Doctor (in his 11th incarnation). It brought back a sad memory, but it also brough

"Holy Smokes, Batman, now we can go to a ThinkGeek store IRL!"

Hello kiddies!! Yes, yes it is absolutely freakin' true, everyone's favorite Geek/Nerd provider of awesomeness has opened not just one, but two stores in FL.!!! YES, FLORIDA... They were not content to their online domination & take over, so they decided to take over IRL. AND, we can't thank them enough, at least I can't. And I do hope they have lots & lots of success because we need them to conquer the west coast ASAP!! It looks like today was their opening date, too! So, for those of you who still like the thrill of acquiring items at the moment and not have to wait for packages in mail (although, ThinkGeek has excellent delivery) we can simply go to one of their stores and buy to our heart's contents without having to wait for our packages to arrive. I will be leaving you the link to their website, so you guys can find out where the stores are located in Florida. For those lucky to live nearby, I so envy you right now! And to ThinkGeek,

DOCTOR WHO Series 9 Highlights & Review.

So, yesterday was the world premier of Doctor Who series 9, and like many many of my fellow Whovians (and also because I was fortunate to have the day off) I tuned in. And it did not disappoint! So many references, so much drama, oh the feels!! The first episode was appropriately titled.  Source: theregister.co.uk  I think the move of returning the Doctor and Clara where everything (meaning the Great Time War started) with the key players (Davros, Daleks' homeworld, etc.) was excellent. The beginning of the episode, having the Doctor trying to save the unknown child, and all of a sudden getting the 'OH, GOSH' moment when it is revealed who the child really is, creates an instant dilemma for the our Time Lord. And as the episode progresses, we see the shame and urgency of The Doctor who wants to protect Clara and Missy from a battle he knows he needs to face himself. The deeper connect between Clara and The Doctor (when she and Missy are transported to the Doc

Hello Sweetie.. The Return of River Song.

For those of us who we consider ourselves Whovians, just today we got a very special announcement from BBC and Doctor Who by giving us our Christmas gift early, sort of. And although we will have to wait for the traditional Christmas episode, it will be worth the wait because an very beloved recurring character will reappear.  River Song, the Doctor's wife will be included in the special. 😁😅😁 I'm over the moon with excitement in wanting to see Alex Kingston in her iconic role! Aside from the fact that I'm still a bit heartbroken due to Rory & Amy Pond not being able to travel through time and space with Peter Capaldi's incarnation of The Doctor, I am giddy to see River's interaction with her husband in the form of 12th Doctor.  Doctor Who is set to premier on September 19 on BBC One. The Christmas Special was announced to air on Friday December 25th. For more info. I leave you the link to BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/entries

The Juggernaut Awakens: Walmart vs. Target

Hello kiddies! once again, I find myself bringing you news of what's happening in the magical & fantastical land of Geekdom. As many of you know, not long ago too, I wrote that Walmart announced that it would carry the Covergirl Star Wars make up line in September, which I can safely say that I'm stil super psyched! Well, it appears that Walmart has announced Force Fridays, where they will be selling various merchandise items in the wake of 'The Force Awakens.' here is the link straight from the starwars.com page announcing Walmart's "Force Fridays" http://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-force-awakens-products-to-arrive-on-force-friday-september-4 Source: rebelscum.com. Property of Disney/LucasFilm/ Walmart/Sam Walton And apparently, Walmart is not the only one to partner up with Disney/Lucas and the upcoming franchise. Target is also getting in the fun too! http://nerdist.com/stay-on-target-for-the-star-wars-the-force-awakens-t

The Force is strong with Covergirl & Disney Parks

Hello kiddies!!!  Wishing you all had a wonderful weekend!! So, what is new since I last wrote to you guys? We shall begin... Covergirl: Star Wars Limited Edition Make-Up: Fellow fangirls, we need to start saving up because Covergirl recently announced a Star Wars Limited Edition make up line that will be coming September 4 (yes, of this year!) but their actual official release date will be December. I'm super thrilled that in particular Covergirl took the helm and decided to release the line. Why? because although Covergirl is known for being so much affordable, compared to other high end priced make-up companies, it is awesome that they are making it accessible for all types of $$ pockets.  Why, because some of us (maybe the majority, rather than a few) we realistically have bills to pay, so it's awesome that a more affordable make-up company is taking the helm in this collection and that way more of us (who are on a budget) can have a better chance to snatch u

The Good, The Bad and the plain Ugly News... just kidding about ugly.

Hello kiddies!!!  Sorry I have been MIA for a bit, but my job (as in the real world, cuz I still have bills to pay) has been picking up in these couple of weeks, so yeah, it's been hectic. Plus, my kiddo has gone back to school (2nd grade) and so, yeah, I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Not so much, because I no longer find joy in posting, but I've been plain old busy. Anywhoo...  So what is happening in Geekdom?! Mark Hamill is coming out of retirement!!! Yes, I know you guys are scratching your heads (maybe not), but for those of you who missed the announcement (or just plainly can't get enough hearing it), Mark Hamill, is coming out of retirement from reprising his role of The Joker: The Clown Prince of Crime in the animated rendition of "The Killing Joke."  Yes, you guys heard that right, he will be reprising the voice work for The Joker, and it has been confirmed. There are also rumors that Mr. Kevin Conroy might
