PERHAPS TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GEEK!

Hello kiddies!!

No, I did not die, but it almost feels like I did.

Sorry i have not been able to post anything these past two months, but for us poor mortals who need to work in order to pay bills, this season is one of the busiest, specially for those who work in retail (ahem, like i do). So, if you also work retail, or have ever been tortured to do so (at some point in your life), i  basically do not have a life. I sold my soul to the Retail God, and as of late, I've been non existant.

Any ways, so today I had the energy to post, so here we go!!

For those who have not noticed this year has been our year, since sci-fi, comics based, fantasy, etc genres have been dominating the big screen, and to that I say, it's about time!! So, not only has our community been anxiously waiting for The Force Awakens, but just today, Team Roddenberry released the trailer for Star Trek Beyond.

And to tell you the truth, I'm pretty psyched about it!

Not only are we being introduced to new alien races, but from what I was able to tell from the trailer, this new installment holds up to the legacy that was left by Gene Roddenberry. Yes, I know that there is still controversy from Geeks to which one is better, Star Wars or Trek, but honestly, I like both! (although, I will lean more towards Trek, because there is a sentiment behind it) But, we're not here to discuss the dilemma, we're here to discuss the trailer. Yes, many die hard Trekkies/Trekkers were disappointed with the reboots first two installments, stating that it didn't hold to Gene's vision, which first and foremost is a more ethical/philosophical/exploration t.v. show,  which many argued had lost that aspect to the more space adventure-y formula. But honestly, I had no problem with it because at the core of both reboots, there is still the ethical/philosophical films that many Trekkies grew to love. In my humble opinion, Mr. Roddenberry's legacy still lives on with the Star Trek franchise.

Additionally, I enjoyed seeing Uhura, Scotty and Bones having a lot more screen time in this new trailer and also because it seems like the intrepid crew has been exploring (from last time we saw them, battling Khan) and they have discovered new life forms/spieces.

Anyways, I leave you guys with the link to the trailer for your viewing enjoyment:

And also in other Trekkie news, it was announced in November that there is a new Star Trek t.v. show in development, that will have nothing to do with the film franchise, but will focus on what Star Trek has always meant to be, on the small screen.

And talking about sequels/reboots (because it has also been the year of reboots/sequels), the new trailer for Indepence Day: Resurgence came out as well, and from what I gathered, it does not look at all that bad. Looks like they have taken their time, effort to make a really good reboot/sequel.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of
