Hello kiddies!!!
Sorry I have been MIA for a bit, but my job (as in the real world, cuz I still have bills to pay) has been picking up in these couple of weeks, so yeah, it's been hectic. Plus, my kiddo has gone back to school (2nd grade) and so, yeah, I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
Not so much, because I no longer find joy in posting, but I've been plain old busy.
Anywhoo...
So what is happening in Geekdom?!
Mark Hamill is coming out of retirement!!!
Yes, I know you guys are scratching your heads (maybe not), but for those of you who missed the announcement (or just plainly can't get enough hearing it), Mark Hamill, is coming out of retirement from reprising his role of The Joker: The Clown Prince of Crime in the animated rendition of "The Killing Joke."
Yes, you guys heard that right, he will be reprising the voice work for The Joker, and it has been confirmed. There are also rumors that Mr. Kevin Conroy might also be along for the ride as the iconic (and most recognized) voice for Batman! I don't know about you guys, but I'm super psyched!! Can't wait to see the animated retelling about one of the most influential and iconic stories in the Batman mythos.
Here is an article from Screenrant explaining the details:

Ant-Man: A Charming surprise!
So, many of you by now have seen Ant-Man, and to be completely honest, I was very skeptical whether Paul Rudd would be able to have the gravitas for playing Scott Lang. And apparently, some critics were also skeptical. They had predicted that this film would have been the first bomb for Marvel/Disney.... but it seriously proved wrong. The family and I went to see the movie opening weekend, and I was thoroughly delighted. The cast meshed perfectly well with one another. Michael Douglas was perfect as Hank Pym, and to be completely honest, Paul Rudd was a perfect casting choice for Scott Lang. The movie had a good balance of comedy, action, suspense. One of the highlights of the movie (for me) was the rag-tag team of Luis and his buddies who help pull the "heist." Charming all the way through, and it seriously didn't have a boring/unnecessary moment. Agent Carter, Stark, Sr. and the one and only Stan Lee's cameos were the cherries on top of a delicious and scrumptious cake. And I'm very happy that this installation proved critics wrong that Marvel is still the amazing juggernaut that it has become in telling these iconic stories on the big screen.
What are you guys waiting for? GO SEE IT!!! It will be worth the movie price! (if for some weird reason you were abducted by Aliens and have yet not seen it)
The Merc with a Mouth:
And just because it is beyond awesome, I leave you the link to the first official trailer (that the rest of the world has seen and re-seen of the upcoming Deadpool movie. Why? because it's INCREDIBLE, AWESOME and it is worthy to be played and replayed, to get our Deadpool fix for now, (At least, until February 2016).
Warning: It is the Red band trailer, so, there is no censure whatsoever.

And now here is the bad news...
Fantastic Four & the curse that lives on:
Josh Trank's Fantastic Four (2015) is the bomb that critics were thinking Ant-Man would have been. So, it has gotten nothing but bad reviews not only from the pros, but by the fans. There are tons of reviews/reactions to this movie that is nothing but unfavorable.
But why? Is it Marvel's doing or simply 20th Century/Fox who don't know what they are doing? There has been controversy over who should or needs to take the blame for this atrocity, but apparently, this particular franchise has been plagued by a horrible curse, that every time there is an attempt for a reboot, it fails. There was a 1994 Fantastic Four movie, that never even made it because it was too horrible story, graphics, just plain horrible. Fast forward a couple of years later there is the more digestible Fantastic Four (2005) with Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and it still is sub par to the 'comic' book movies of that time (Spider-Man and X-Men).
And now, to add salt to an already open wound, we have this year's rendition and it is still crummy as heck!!
So, who is really to blame? The director, the actors? the screenplay? the movie studios? Either way, it is really a shame that this franchise has had horrible luck in the box office. So, comment below, who you think is to blame for this atrocity, or even if there is someone to blame. What do you guys think went wrong?
Unfortunately, I have to cut short (prior kiddo engagement at her school), but til' next time kiddies!! (Hopefully it won't be as long as this time around)
