In Loving Memory to a Princess in A Galaxy Far Far Away.

In a world full of Princesses needing to be rescued by their Knight in Shinning Armor, Princess Leia taught many little girls that you can rescue yourself. Today, the world all ovet mourns the loss of a true icon, cross-generational, inspiring human being and incredible actress, Carrie Fisher. Princess Leia was different, strong-willed, resourceful, intelligent, brilliant diplomat, fearless. As a little girl I wanted to be just like her, because she resembled my own characteristics. I didn't want to be rescued, I wanted to write my own happy ending, I wanted to be different. And in front of me, was this character who embodied everything I hoped to be when I would grow up. Carrie as an actress was unconventiaonal, inspiring because she was human, not a plastic, un-realistic version of a person, she was real with flaws and many more qualities. There are no words to sufficiently describe how much she meant to me and how deeply I am feeling her passing. To her family, loved o...

The Force is Strong with this One.

The Holiday season for most is actually over and while we had to deal with our crazy horde of relatives, I do hope that many of you spent the days with great food and company. So, where have I bloody been?!? Well, real quick to recap, I started a new part-time job near my new abode, so unfortunately it has been a bit hectic around my household. Not to mention we were trying to get ready for the holidays. Either way, I am back!! For the most part we can collectively agree that 2016 has just been a $&1t year.  From start til now, there have been very few joyous moments throughout. Except, a couple of weeks ago with the premier of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story . 🤗🤗 What's not to like about this film?! ( Unless you have no soul) it is absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, I was holding on to my breath ( miraculously, I didn't 💀). Source: wikipedia.com Not only does it re-validates this franchise (cinematically speaking) but it adds so mu...

Going out with a Bang?!

Hello kiddies!! So, I found an interesting article from moviepilot.com concerning the now long running sitcom The Big Bang Theory.  It seems that there have been issues negotiating pay increases for both Kaley Cuoco (Penny) and Jim Parsons (Sheldon). According to the rumor mill and the article, season 11 was potentially in danger to not get green lit due to the negations. But alas, for now things seemed to have resolved and there will be a season 11 after all. Now, I know that TBBT is a bit controversial in our community due to those Geeks who like the show and those who despise it. The nay-sayers feel like the show derives on moving and further stereotyping the community. They are vocal against the fact that the show laughs at the Geek community instead of with it.   Source: epguides.com On the other hand, the people who have been following the sitcom from the beginning of the fact that, it celebrates all the Geeky awesomeness we have to offer. Both sides, I see...

Through the Eye of Agamotto

I do hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with food and loved ones! Except I do hope no one ATE their loved ones, because "Ewwww!" Hello kiddies! Now that gobble gobble day is well behind us, many are starting to put their various Xmas decorations and most importantly we are gearing up for the release of Rogue One, but before we get there, like many of you I took this past holiday to FINALLY catch up to the rest of the world and go see Dr. Strange in theaters. And, as many of you can guess, this will be a movie review of sorts. Normally in my movie reviews I make a list of pros and cons, but in this instance I feel like it deserves something different. Why? Well it's not like it was devoid of some cons but it had a different feel to the rest of the MCU. I'll explain:  Source: Den of Geek So far, the MCU has avoided (like the plague, no less) in having to incorporate magic/mysticism in the back stories and rationale of Thor's hammer ...

Pop Funkos, handbags & DVD's... OH MY!!!

Ah, the 90's ... what fond memories do you bring us! What a decade, where we would willingly get up on a Saturday morning to watch our favorite cartoon line up. Not only did we have choices on our weekends, but we also had our choosing DURING the week, as well. So, why am I bringing back these memories? Because, Funkos has announced that they will be releasing their Batman: The Animated Series  Pop Funko line for the 25th anniversary of the show. Indeed, it has been 25 years already from the TV debut and what better way to commemorate it, than by releasing new collectibles. The line up will include:  Batman, of course!  Source: nerdist.com Robin  Joker Harley Quinn Batgirl  Poison Ivy The debut is expected to hit this month, so keep an eye out for them! I'm pretty sure they will be flying off the shelves, too! http://nerdist.com/funko-reveals-new-batman-the-animated-series-pop-line/?gallery=447096#gallery Loungefly, just take my $$$!! ...

Winter is Coming with... concerts, barbells + senpai?

Good day kiddies! 😁 For whatever weird reason I always find myself writing my posts at un-godly hours, like say 3:30 something in the morning?! 😶 For most of you do not know that I am a night owl, who happens to get more inspiration from the muses during these hours rather than the early mornings. Never wake me up in the mornings, I'm just a ball of 'meh' the entire day who will be loading on loads of caffeine and sugar. Maybe that's why I am fat?! 😕 Anywho, enough about me, you're here because of news that I share with you guys about our community. Most of us know that the next season of GOT was delayed all the way to mid year (last I heard), because HBO basically just wants to collectively torture us. Ahem, the reality is that most of us are already suffering from major withdrawals. But can it be done? Are we just expected to binge watch all current seasons over and over, just because we can't admit that it will be awhile for the new season to arr...

Party on Foolish Mortals!!

Hello my kiddies and yes, it is I once again, bringing you news around our kingdom. It is almost that time of year again when people are starting to bring out their spooky décor and making plans to celebrate Halloween. Many people are either looking forward to private parties, amusement parks, etc., but what if you are a dwelling citizen of our Geeky kingdom and the conventional outlets do not inspire you? Do not fret because I've compiled a couple of evens (SoCal area) that may be of interest to you guys! If, you aren't anywhere near the East coast and are not attending NYCC ( which is on it's second day as we speak) and don't want to miss on one con this year, may I suggest, Stan Lee's Find Con, also formerly known as Comikaze! Yes, like each year, it will be hosted at the L.A. Convention Center on Oct. 28th through the 30th.  Source: Instagram.com This is an awesome that caters to many different likings. It is for couples, solos and parents (Hallo...
