NEW 52: WONDER WOMAN REVIEW

My all time favorite DC heroine is Wonder Woman (a very narrow second place is held by Hawkgirl, 'bird nose' according to Solomon Grundy).

And as a massive load of you know DC New 52 has come out with a re-vamped more streamlined Wonder Woman story.

Azzarello, Chiang and Akins have done an incredible job, not just by the artwork, but the story is absolutely solid.

I seriously don't want to spoil any thing for those of you who haven't had the chance to read the new 52 story line.

Brief synopsis is that Wonder Woman has to confront many Olympian Gods & Goddesses for Zeus' throne.

There is also a very important prophecy that involves a mortal girl & her child.

The story line has twists, turns, allies, not so much mainstream villains, but more so contenders for the throne (this sounds a bit like a Game of Thrones episode! lol.)

Btw, they also revamped her origin story, which now makes her even more of a bad-ass than ever!!

There are pleasant & some shocking surprises as the story moves along. It moves about a good pace and there aren't many filler moments.

Wonder Woman artwork in this New 52 story is simply scrumptious.

So, is it worth acquiring? DEFINITELY.

For any comic book enthusiast and specially for those who are Wonder Woman fans, this will make an incredible addition to your comic book library.

For those who are more than familiar with the New 52 and want to leave a comment, feel free to write it below letting me know what was your favorite part, and or whether so far have been enjoying it as much as I have!

P.S. Here are the titles of the graphic novels for those of you who are interested in acquiring:

Vol. 1 Blood

Vol. 2 Guts

Vol. 3 Iron

Vol. 4 War

ENJOY!!!

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was...

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. (See w...

Not your Mother's She-Ra.

On November 13, Netflix finally premiered 'She-Ra & The Princesses of Power.' Not sure if it was long awaited (for other people, I was absolutely waiting for this!)  and even before it was released it was met with a bit of controversy due to the new styling. Well, my daughter and I sat to binge watched season 1 and let me tell you, it was absolutely perfectly well balanced. For those of us old enough to remember the original series, there are tons of references to characters, events, etc. It doesn't dwell too much into, but it gives a respectful nod to the original series. It isn't a carbon copy of the 80's She-ra and it isn't completely different (I'm assuming this was done for the 'nay-sayers.').  It is very well balanced with new elements and nostalgia inducing references. imdb.com Character development is also well done, I absolutely love the fact that Cattra was given a much rounder, complex backstory in this rebo...
