Lately, I've been noticing that I've been doing way, and I mean WAY too many film reviews, and as much as I enjoy them, I really don't want to have one sort of content on my blog.
So, this blog won't be a film review (although, I was really tempted to write one for The Incredibles 2) instead it will be a game review of a really fun game that involves the subject-matter that is near and dear to my heart, CATS!
So for all future and current cat ladies (and everyone else) today I will be reviewing Cat Lady.

The mechanics:
Easy to play (30 minute game) card game that involves rows and columns, where there are different cards, which are:
- Cats (these felines need to be adopted by you and the other players.
- Milk, tuna, meat cards (which you trade in for little pegs, that represent either milk, tuna or meat to feed your kitties).
- Cat toys, these give extra stuff at the end of the game.
- Cat nip, also these give extra stuff at the end of game.

The point of the game is simple: get the essentials that your adopted strays need (food, milk, toys, etc) but be careful to make sure all of your cats have what they need, or it will hinder your point score at the end of the game. Each stray has a number of what it needs for to be a happy cat, and it also has a number on the left which are your points. Collect the most stray cats as you can (but remember to have what they need or it will impact your score at the end) and be the ultimate cat lady!
The game comes with tokens to represent either milk, tuna, or meat. A delightfully cute cat token. Stray cat cards, all with different personalities, too!
First Impressions:
So, as I am a cat lady ( I currently have one cat, hope to have more in the future) my first impression of this game was that it is a very easy game to learn. The instructions were pretty clear, there was really no way to confuse the rules. The art of the cards is absolutely adorable, each cat has its own name and personality. There is strategy and as simple as the game seems, it is challenging to not only keep track of how many cats you get, but also if you have enough for all of them. At the end, the Husband ended up being the ultimate cat lady, but it is really an enjoyable game that doesn't require a lot of setup or explanation. it is 2-4 players, and the age require is +14, but since it does have simple rules, probably 10+ year old. could play this game.
So, if you're in the mood for a quick setup, simple instruction game, but that is challenging and is a kick back game, this is the perfect game for you, or should I say, purrfect game. 😉😄
This is one of those games that I could easily come back to and play between or before a more complex game or to just relax with family and friends.
I definitely recommend it.
So grab your fellow cat enthusiasts and enjoy this whimsical card game that will be well worth the purchase and will give you many many years of fun.
