Winter is Here (SPOILER ALERT)

As most of the world knows by now, yesterday was the premier of Game of Thrones, season 8 and to say the least, it has been one of the most expected seasons for over a year!

Usually I don't like to spoil anything for those of you whom might come across my blog, but this time, I'm going to make a bit of the exception to the rule, in that I will basically tell you some of my favorite moments from last night's episode.

So, this is your one and only...

**SPOILER ALERT**

1. Jon Snow returns to Winterfell....
OMG, all that side-eye and shade! The King in the North returns, but now with Daenerys and if only side eyes could kill. No one is really happy about it, but specially the Stark (Sansa, Bran & Arya) whom are really cautious about the arrival of Dany. And can you really blame them after all they've been through? Specially, when some of the Lords in the North decide to sit it out because they feel betrayed by Jon, whom swore to protect them. I kinda find this a bit reminiscent when Robb Starrk falls in love, and basically ruins everything. So, I'm hoping that Jon can see through it clearer than his brother/nephew.

2. Tormund, Dolorous Edd and Beric Dondarrion...
I loved seeing our favorite wildling red-head STILL alive after the crash of the wall, and I especially loved that bit of comedic interaction between Dolorous Edd and Tormund. It's a relief to know that some of expected deaths won't be immediately happen, at least, they're giving our hearts a bit of a breather. Thank you, HBO!

3. The Lady of Winterfell & her ex...
Last night was a reunion episode, where many of the characters that had seen each other had been a while, and having them meet again, was a quick catch up between them and us the audience. But definitely one of the most awkward catch ups was between Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister. The word awkward was invented after these two, it was basically what a meeting would look like if a divorced couple, after a bitter separation, had to meet with each other at a common acquaintance, and they're trying to remain as civil as possible in order for them to not start drama. That's how awkward these two were, but at the same time, it was nice having both size each other up again (in terms of character growth) and what it can potentially mean for the rest of the season.

4. How to train your Rhaegal...
And finally, Jon Snow gets to ride a dragon. Which I'm sure will come in handy in the couple of next episodes (I hope). Also, for the fact that he got to ride on Rhaegal, which is quite fitting since he is the son of Rhaegar, so it was a nice touch to his lineage. Also, that scene with Drogon & Jon, was ummm, interesting?! Uncomfortable, I should say. Is this what overly possessive pets do to strangers when they're trying to get intimate with their owners? 😄

5. Arya and Gendry reunite...
And something I mentioned to my husband was that, it would be poetic if by the end of the season, Arya and Gendry end up together (that's of course, assuming they survive). Since, Arya has always been said to resemble Lyanna and Gendry is a son of Robert Baratheon, it would be poetic and ironic. But, that was actually nice to see those two again (also, not to mention the mini Hound encounter).

6. Daenerys the bitch...
Hear me out, there have been times where I've absolutely LOVED Dany, and there have been times that I've scratched my head at her for some of her decisions. But last night, one of the few moments when I was genuinely angry with her was when she meets Samwell Tarly and mercilessly tells him that she burned her father AND brother because they refused to fight her. She needs people to trust her in the North, and telling them that they burned their families is definitely NOT the way to do it. Specially, that we're talking about SAM, who is admired by not only Bran and others, but Jon Snow. So, it broke my heart and for the first time, I had to call her a bitch and who acted no different than Cersei would have.

I know that there are so many other moments that stood out, but these were the ones that stood out the most for me. And quite frankly, where the ones that I definitely choose as my favorite. No one knows how this will end, but one thing is certain, however it does, I'm sure it'll be something that we will be talking about for a long time.

Do you guys have your own favorite moments? Leave them in the comments below!

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of
