Dragons+Maids = AMAZING!

Lately I've been in a anime & manga mood. I definitely wouldn't consider myself an Otaku by any stretch of the imagination, but I do have a fondness and appreciation for the genres. I'm also open to suggestions because I'd be lying to y'all that if I said that I have read ALL or MANY. I probably haven't scratched the surface to be honest. But the ones that I have been introduced to me, I have not yet been disappointed (except for Escaflowne, really couldn't get into it, sorry!) Recently I just discovered Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid  (thanks to my husband, Barnes & Crunchyroll). So, my husband encountered the anime and one weekend when we were at Barnes & Noble we picked up the manga for it. Both my daughter and I read the first book and we loved it! Crunchyroll I love the fact that it has magic, dragons, fantasy, yet it is also set in the modern setting and watching the characters interact with their surroundings and each other is a...

Tea, Earl Grey...hot.

Set phasers to STUNNED!! 😆 Yesterday, the teaser trailer for the much anticipated return of Jean-Luc Picard was released, and as a devoted Trekkie, specially growing up with Next Generation , I'm absolutely delighted. I'm also intrigued because it seems like the trailer is a direct nod to the final episode for the series, "All Good Things..." . I have so many questions, like, is this a re-con of a possible alternate ending? Can we hope for cameo appearances from other beloved TNG characters? Will Q be in this as well? Seriously, I have so many questions! No less, I'm super psyched to see Patrick Stewart back in the role that he made iconic. There's so many questions that need to be answered (and I'm sure will get the answers too, when the series is released) but for now what is certain that I can't wait to see this series. So, I will leave you with the trailer, and let me know your thoughts. Are you psyched as I am? Leave me a comment bel...

Now, Our Watch has Ended

So, let's talk about the much anticipated season finale for Game of Thrones . Last night was the last night and the culmination of 8+ years of hard work for all those who were involved in the show. From the crew to the actors and everyone in between, yesterday was farewell. And, now that we are living in a digital media age, the fans' reactions were fast and furious. There were many whom enjoyed the ending, other's not so much (and boy, were they vocal, specially on Twitter!) . The main complaint that I could tell from those who were less impressed with the finale was: Pacing- felt too rushed Story development, specifically the character build up and feeling that it was for nought. Who ended on the "throne" and the fate of the remaining characters. Which, depending on your point of view, they're valid reasons why the fans who were left disappointed can critique it. But here's my OWN point of view (very much MY own) on why this finale was n...

Nah, Nah, Nah, NAH Batman

I'm sure by now most of us have heard the news, that it's been officially announced that Robert Pattinson will be the new Batman. And a few of us have been left scratching our heads on this decision. variety.com What is going on over at WB headquarters that they chose to go with Pattinson?! No shade to Robert Pattinson, as a person, but as an actor, let's just say that his roles haven't been memorable for the best reasons. He really can't emote, I'd say he's at par with his former co-star Kristen Stewart, who can't emote even if her life depended on it. I honestly want to think that the person responsible for casting is either high, drunk or naive. Yes, Bruce Wayne is moody, broody, dark... but not obnoxious twinkling vampire moody. What I don't understand is that we know that there have been some couple of misses in their casting choices (for their movies) but there has also been some great choices. Specially when it comes to their t.v...

I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of ...

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was...

Dearly Departed.

I will admit, I was an absolute mess last night with the third episode of Game of Thrones. I sobbed like a baby with what happened last night, that I'm still processing it all this day. Holy sh*t! So much agony, suspense and surprises. If you haven't seen last night's episode (for whatever reason) proceed at your own risk, because SPOILERS ARE COMING. Here are the casualties in last night "Battle of Winterfell..." TVLine.com Little Lyanna Mormont, the fierce little bear fought bravely and took down Wun-Wun the zombie giant with her, but unfortunately did not make it. And I was hoping (like many people) that she would because she was just a bad-ass in her own right. But sadly, House Mormont is no longer with us. Game of Thrones Wiki Sir Friendzone also perished in last night's episode in the most epic and heroic way possible, protecting his Khaleesi. Yes, Jorah Mormont died protecting the woman he loved. Til' the very end, he fought for...
