And a collective and very well resounding F**K YOU might be necessary and in order.
So, it has been a very rough start for Geekdom/Nerdom, because as all the world knows, this month took away from us, The Goblin King, aka Mr. Starman himself and the uniquely talented Alan Rickman.
Their loss has been heartfelt and felt throughout many many mediums, countries, cities, etc.
And who could blame us? Both were absolutely beyond talented, and any acollade that I can think of would not do them any justice, whatsoever.
And, as many of you can see, I took a while to post (yet again) not so much because I didn't want to or would have liked to, but out of respect for not only talented artists, but for their grieving families, as well.
I know many mediums reported on this because it is their jobs to bring the latest news, but this is my hobby, not my job.
I like reaching whoever likes to read my comments, reviews and overall ideas that are floatng inside my head.
But I do understand that, there are still grieving families, friends; who knew them as a father, husband, friend, brother, etc. And simply keep repeating or posting the news of their loss, to me, seems insensitive.
I am by no means condeming those who decided to post or repost about the news of Bowie and Rickman's deaths, either to spread the news, or make incredible tributes for these great men, just simply put it, it is not my style.
Anyways, yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble and picked up a copy of Deadpool vs. Thanos (I promise, it's related to the main subject of this post) and basically, (without giving too many spoilers, for those who haven't read it) Deadpool and Thanos are competing for the affection, attention and rescuing of their lady love, Death.
And in a very enjoyable Deadpool style, this particular graphic novel touched on a very serious and painful subject of death... and how unfortunately, it is a necessary gift.
Now, before any body dares to think that I'm implying that both Bowie and Alan deserved or needed to die, NO and NO.
What I'm saying is this, in the comic, Death gets kidnapped and because she is trapped no one in the entire galaxies, cosmos can die. And yet some patients with terminal diseases are happy at first, they soon find out that it is a torture. Eradicated diseases are anew and wreacking havoc.... point is, it's a bloody mess.
Yes, we feel pain and distraught when we lose loved ones, but we can never truly imagine the pain and agony they must have gone through living with incurable illnesses.
Yes, we need to find better treatments and cures to terminal diseases, but we must also be aware that Death, even if we don't like it, is a balancer of life.
Most important we must remind our loved ones everyday how much they mean to us, while they are still amongst us.
Alan Rickman's and David Bowie's legacy will forever be with us. Touching each generation who is willing to recognize and enjoy their unforgettable talent that they worked for and cultivated in their various works.
They will be missed, ALWAYS.
So, will the legacies of those who we also lost in 2015...
Leonard Nimoy, Sir Christopher Lee, Yvonne Craig and Robin Williams.
Thank You for your talents, humanity and wherever you may be, may you be at peace.
Til' next time kiddies.
