Two days ago, the first official trailer for the new 'She-ra: Princesses of Power' was finally released, and I cannot stop squealing!!!
Yes, I am aware I just covered this in the last couple of days, but I can't stop! 😝
This is huge for me, and I believe for a lot of fans whom grew up with the original 80's cartoon.
I love how the essence of the iconic 80's cartoon can still be seen in the trailer. I love the new relationship between Catthra and Adora, and how it adds a different dimension to the new series. I also love how it's not just Adora in this new series, but she's one of a group that is willing to fight against the Evil Horde.
I enjoyed the humor, and specially the new animation. The way the characters are drawn have a nostalgia feel to them, but they're also a new element as well. This isn't the 80's version, but a newer version for this generation. There is a feel that there is respect for the older version, it's not degrading the original, but building from it.
I can't wait for it to finally come out on Netflix and I do hope it isn't a big disappointment, because I really really hope that it is a success. From the looks on the new trailer, it looks like it will be, but only time will tell whether or not it will actually be.
So far, I'm pumped and it all looks like it's headed for the right direction.
Talking about new beginnings, as many of you know, that with Big Bang Theory ending, it was safe to assume that the actors who've played iconic characters are moving on, and some are moving on in a big way, because, a teaser trailer came out announcing, a new Harley Quinn series, for D.C. streaming service, with the voice of Kaley Cuoco as Harley herself.
It looks promising, it looks well designed, stylish, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kaley Cuoco brings to this new iteration of Harley Quinn.
I find it interesting that she's not using the established 'Harley Quinn' voice (high pitch) in this new series, it's a very different sound to her voice. To be honest, that kinda weird-ed me out a bit, since I'm so used to her iconic voice, but once I watched it a couple of times, I actually like it. It's not a copy of Arleen Sorkin, Tara Strong or even Melissa Rauch, but mainly, a new spin to the already beloved character.
As a fan, sometimes I do become over protected (like many of us) with our iconic characters, but I need to remind myself that different doesn't automatically mean, bad. It just means different, and we need to be a bit more embracing that despite what we're accustomed to, diversity or different-ness isn't a bad thing. It can add a different dimension to a character.
I'll definitely looking forward to seeing these series. 😊

I wrote this while listening to Cab Calloway.
