LGBTQ representation, Sir Pat Stew & MLP: FIM

Boy do I have news for you guys!!

It always brings me an immense joy knowing how our community is slowly but surely (and for the most part) is embracing different individuals from many different walks of life.

We within oursleves were outcasts for many many years by the "normal" section of our societies and at times were looked down and made fun of. And it is important that we do not forget where we came from.

Individuals who gathered in the confides of their similar thinking peers to play D&D or join a LAN party or LARPing group during your weekends, we were made up of people who came from different backgrounds and partook in "GEEK" interests.

And although mainstream has finally catched up to us, and for the most part has started to realize that we weren't losers, but innovators, we need to remember all those who doubted us, and help and embrace others who still have not have had the opportunity to be heard.

For those who have not heard, a DC writer, has formally come out on social media as transgender.

Lilah Sturges has proudly come out as who she really is and it is awesome.

Even more awesome DC has officially announced their first ever Batman ally, in the new Detective Comics, as transgender.

Dr. Victoria October's story will be written by Lilah Sturges herself. It will depict her transisitioning and her backstory in almost flashbacks, but they won't be central in her characterization.

The reason why? because Sturges wants to humanize her, yes, the character is transgender, but that isn't EVERYTHING that she is. She is also smart, she will be an important part as an ally to Batman, and she has flaws and qualities that will be relateable to anyone, regardless of gender-identification.

I think it is an amazing, and important step, and I am very proud that DC, is making this happen. We need to support our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ community, regardless if they are "one of us" or not.

This community needs more voices, from everyone, allies, friends, community outreach, because, they we need to be heard, there is enough that all these amazing individuals go through, and we as outcasts ourselves, can empathize how it felt, being told that we were different and unwanted.

Their voices, plight need to be heard, because at the end of the day, they deserve the same rights we enjoy and take for granted.

I couldn't be more proud to be part of this community, and I hope we can continue to be a positive force for change and good, for EVERYONE.

I commend you DC.

Miss Lilah Sturges, fight on, keep telling your story!

Sir Pat Stew is the SHIT!!

Ah, Sir Patrick Stewart, for many of us, you will always be Jean-Luc Picard, Locutus of Borg, or Professor X. Your career has been incredible to watch, and for many us, you hold a very special place in our Geeky hearts.

You sir, can do no wrong.... and even though most of us, know you as this reknown Shakespearean actor, you also have an amazing sense of humor. Proving us, that you can never take yourself too seriously.

And if anyone has doubts about it, you might want to look at his upcoming film project, that literally is the shittiest of them all.

Sony has started releasing  promitional posters and a trailer for their new upcoming "Emoji Movie" and they have announced via twitter, that the voice of the famous Poop (or Poo, however you want to address it) emoji, will be none other than Sir Pat Stew.

OMG, can you guys even fathom the Poo emoji with Sir Pat Stew's voice?!

Sure we all use these silly emoticons (ahem, for those of you who were not around the late 90s-2000 ish, they were called this) but just to think about the POO emoji with his voice, I am a sucker for Sir Patrick Stewart.

So, will I go see it when it comes out? Most likely.

I do hope that it is as good as I hope it will be, but even if it isn't I'm pretty sure, i know which emoji (from now on) will be my favorite!

Even more secrets from Equestria...

For anyone who has catched a glimpse of 'My LIttle Pony: Friendship is Magic' have noticed that it involves a lot of ponies, magic, and friendships (and how important it is).

But, for those of you who know a bit more, and have kept up a bit more with the comics series from IDW, know that the comics have expanded the world of Equestria and have introduced new characters, or gotten into deeper story arcs for existing ones.

So, now IDW, with some of its writers, will introduce a more profound investigation about the magic that many of the inhabitants of Ponyville use.

I think it is interesting that they have decided to take it in that direction. Because even though in the t.v. show they emphasize the friendship, they really have not explained about the magical side of Equestria. So, it is a unique way to see this world. Besides, it is also gives many possibilities for many diverse storylines.

I for one, cannot wait to see what they do with this, and hope that it continues to be as charming as the t.v. show and the previous comics.

This series is replacing Friends Forever and this new series will be Legends of Magic and it will be released in April.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of
