More D.C. Superhero Girls...

Under normal circumstances I'm usually the one who loves to sleep in whenever possible, specially on the weekends, but who doesn't? Anywhoo, last Saturday was a bit different because the 1st episode (of many, I hope) of D.C. Superhero Girls  aired on Boomerang. So, before the scheduled airdate I promptly got up (well as promptly as one can w/crutches,lol) woke up my 8 year old daughter and we headed to the livingroom to watch. Yes, I am aware that the main target audience is 7 and up, but I absolutely loved the concept since it was announced. I love the fact that DC (and Marvel too) is making a concious effort to include future geeklings of the feminine persuassion. So, of course I was not going to miss this opportunity! Here is my opinion... I absolutely loved the message for the premiere episode, girl power and being confident in who you are. The episode starts with Supergirl getting accepted to Superhero High, where she will learn to control her super powers an...

D.C.: Surprising us left & right.

As of late there have been so many news worthy events going on, but I have so little time to cover them all! So, let's start, shall we? We get our cake and can eat it too!! On the eve of the release date for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice , the entire internet world was treated by Lego/DC/WAG to release a teaser trailer to the upcoming Lego Batman Movie. (Source: tgdaily.com) And Holy Smokes, what a treat it was!! Dare I say that when I saw the teaser I got far more excited than tomorrow's release?! It looks charming, funny and entertaining, and I was thrilled to find out that Will Arnett will be reprising his role as Bruce/Batman. There's also high hopes because the same team tht worked on The Lego Movie is onboard with this project as well. The only bad news is that the movie will not be out until 2017, but from what we've been teased, it looks promising. I leave you with the link for your enjoyment: http://nerdist.com/the-lego-batman-movi...

AKA: JESSICA JONES REVIEW

Hello kiddies!!! Sorry I haven't posted since the last time and it's not because I haven't wanted to but because I've been on very strong pain meds since my knee surgery. Alas! Whenever I have not been knocked out, I have been productive and I binge watching on Netflix and catching up on shows that normally I would not have been able to watch.  Anywhoo, so here's my opinion/review (sans spoilers) of: Netflix  Marvel's Jessica Jones. Omg, the series is absolutely fantastic! The cast, storylines, characters are amazingly well thoughtout and executed. One of the best things about this series is that whether you are familiarized with 'ALIAS' or any of the characters from the comics, or if this is your first time hearing about Jessica Jones, Alias, etc. the series is well put together that it is not necessary to have fore knowledge to enjoy the series. To be honest, I had only heard the name of Luke Cage, but I had no idea who Jessica Jones was unt...

TRITON NEEDS PARENTING CLASSES, ASAP!

Don't you wish you could go back and re-live your childhood now that you are an adult whose days are filled with responsabilities, bills, mortage payments, etc.? A good chunk of my memories were, me sitting in front of the 'telly' and falling in love with movies like The Lion King, Pocahontas, The Little Mermaid (which my brother kindly decided to count how many times I viewed it: 100 something), The Rescuers, Secret of NIMH, etc. Like many of you who grew up in the 90s, most of my fondest memories are thanks to Disney and other animation studios. Now that I'm an adult seeing these films all over again, I can't help but notice that some of the content and/or characters are incredibly shady!! In our conversation, the Husband and I were discussing how King Triton (yes, Ariel's dear ol' daddy) is in actuality a horrible parent. Oh, don't believe me? Here's why: (Source: prgn.dromila.top) For starters he is a neglectful father... ...

The one about: ONLINE COMMENTS & EMBARRASSMENT.

Hello kiddies, it is I once again!! So, let's start! Proceed with Caution:  I seriously try not to sound like an old grump when I'm writing my posts, but sometimes people on the internet just makes you want to endlessly yell at your screen. Like so many of us, yesterday we were treated to the release of the 2nd trailer for 'Civil War,' and yes, it's EPIC! (actually epic does not begin to describe it, but will do). (Source: screencrush.com)  Anywhoo, so after watching the trailer, I did the worst possible thing I could do, I ventured into the comments section. Yes, I know it's my own fault! I will not spoil the trailer (in case any of you have not yet seen it) but there's a huge key player at almost the end of it.  Well, many people startedc to comment and basically assume that, what happened in 'Civil War' (comic) will happen in the cinematic MCU.  People, STOP RIGHT THERE!!! Yes, if you're one of those, please stop! Ma...
