Carmen Sandiego is back!!

First things first, Happy New Year everyone!! I'm hoping you're starting 2019 on the right foot.

With that being said, let's get on with the rest of this post, shall we?

So, you may be wondering why I haven't posted in a bit, and yes, I know I tend to disappear a bit, but lately I've been kinda stuck playing WoW, sorry.

I haven't neglected you, it's just that I've been putting hours on my online gaming.

Also, mainly (and this will be part of the post) it's because I've been feeling a bit down with our community.

Why?

Because, recently there's been so many 'negative nancies' about pretty much anything, gaming, films, tv, etc. It kinda makes me want to distance myself for a bit from the Geek community.

Look, we're all dealing with our daily sh*t fest, not to mention our global sh*t fest, it's just a sh*t fest most of our waking hours, and the one thing that makes me happy is being part of a community that gets me.

But what happens when that community has become toxic? It really just makes me not want to be around it for a couple of hours, and just simply enjoy, my own sh*t free geekiness.

I'm not saying that EVERYONE in the community is toxic, but the toxic people are the far more vocal, and yes, it's great to share diverse opinions about shows, movies, comics, etc. but to the point where you're putting down people whom don't agree with you, it's just being an a**hole, period.

One example that comes to mind (and the most recent one too) is Netflix (I know, I talk a lot about Netflix) announced that they are going to be releasing a new revamped version of 'Where in the World is Camern Sandiego', there's even a preview trailer for it. It seems that this revamped version is a combo of a robin hood-esque/ Kim Possible/Indiana Jones style Carmen Sandiego.

So basically, she steals from the bad guys in order to protect the art/treasure/important piece.

And, there's so many nay-sayers.

Yes, it is not the 90's version of the show. Yes, you're perfectly entitled to your opinion. Yes, we're overly fond of our nostalgia, but really, do you guys have to suck the fun out of everything?

Just because it's different, doesn't mean it'll be worse, or not worth enjoying.

People were up in arms with the rebooted She-ra, and that was a sh*t storm too.

The solution is simple, don't watch it, period. How about go to Youtube, and watch old episodes of 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego' and 'She-ra'. But, just because it doesn't meet your standards, that doesn't mean that you need to incessantly ruin it for everyone else, whom might actually enjoy it.

With that being said, I leave you with the offending trailer for 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.'

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was...

I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of ...

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. (See w...
