Changes & Twists

Can we all just get along?!?!

A couple of days ago it was officially revealed that the new Doctor would be played by Jodie Whittaker and ALL hell broke loose.

The reaction to this news has been overwhelmingly mixed. And to be completely honest, I am getting kinda tired about all those piss boys who just can't seem to get the grip that this is 2017 not 1950.

Seriously guys you're that insecure and feel threatened by a female Doctor?! Because it does come down to this: insecurity and fear of being proven wrong. And I'm here to say, GET OVER IT.
BBC

Insecure? Yes, these piss boy are insecure of having their gender "stripped" from an important role and see this as an undermining of the Doctor Who series/canon. Well, guess what? Just because you guys have your own personal insecurities about your own masculinity, that doesn't mean that others can't and have the right to succeed even if they aren't MALE gendered. But most of these guys who are yapping about this are the so-called "nice guys" that always down grade women by thinking and making them feel like they owe their existence to them. I'm sorry guys, but you're just pathetic "neck-beards".

They also live in fear that with the new Doctor, they will be proven wrong, that the role can solely be played by a man. Excuse me, but i didn't see you guys get your panties in a twist as much, when Michelle Gomez was announced as The Master? Um, she is doing a heck of a job in her role. I absolutely love her performance as Missy. Yes, she's a woman, but it's her acting that wins me over, not so much her sex She's still as fiendish, maniacal, twisted as the previous iterations, with a different style and body. But the iconic role of The Master (and his previous incarnations) is still there, they haven't been down washed or played down because of Michelle Gomez.

Why won't it be the same for the Doctor?
DOCTOR WHO

You don't have to watch the new series, you can re-watch all of the other MALE 12th Doctor's series for all I care.

I see it this way, I want awesome stories, writing and acting no matter who is in it. Whether it is a man, woman, gay, white, black, lesbian, transgender, etc. I DON'T CARE. The talent that these individuals bring to the series will transcend and that is what's important. At the end of it all, each actor will bring something unique yet familiar to their rendition of the show and instead of getting all butt hurt about it, we should embrace the change, because it means that the show can evolve and will continue to fascinate as it has since it's beginning.

I honestly think that these piss boys are doing a disservice to everyone else in our community. We should embrace diversity, change, whether it is gender, sex, nationality, creed, our community has pride itself for being accepting of DIFFERENT.

And it's a shame that because these few individuals who think this is an exclusive "male only club" ruins it for everyone else, even the men.

So, piss boys, stop it you are only making yourselves look ridiculous with your whiny shit. If you don't like the new changes, then again, DON'T WATCH IT.

And for those who are as excited as I am about the news, let us celebrate and embrace what our community really stands for (and should never forget) accepting our differences no matter what. I'm uber excited to see where the new Doctor and the story-telling takes us, to which world, species, new companions, i'm seriously psyched!

Congratulations Jodie, you'll be magnificent!!

Aaaaand talking about changes, well, this one is not so much a change, but a twist, but apparently, in a DC comic series, it looks like the Joker will be the hero instead of the infamous villain we all know.

The story line seems to revolve a long of Joker being cured of his insanity and maniacal tendencies, and decides to become a politician who makes some convincing arguments of why Batman is bad for Gotham. From there, Joker will try to eliminate or at least get rid off, Batman through a LEGAL way. That's right, the Joker will do things the right way in order to get rid of his dear old Batsy. Will he succeed? Is there more to this plot than meets the eye? We will just have to find out when the miniseries is released.

This mini series will come to comic shops October 4th, and will have the title of Batman: White Knight it is set in an alternate universe. It is being helmed by Sean Gordon Murphy. And by the looks of it (thanks to Nerdist for providing a more in depth look, yes, I will leave the link) this miniseries looks intriguing. It looks dark, twisted in more ways than just switching characters, the ethical, lega and moral implications can be severe and it's refreshing, It's something that i bet many of us have thought of, or discussed with other fans, but never have dared to voiced it out loud (well, at least with this magnitude).

It looks stylish, thought provoking and will definitely give a new dimension to both Joker and Batman.

So, I definitely will be picking it up when it arrives, because it really seems worth the while.

Gotta Run Away Fast.

We've all seen the trailers for the upcoming release of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu  and most of us have gotten excited to see our favorite Pokemon come to life (CGI, of course) on the big screen. One of the most iconic Pokemon have been Pikachu, and what we've seen, he is stinkingly adorable in anime form or live-action. The animation for the CGI was well handled for what we've been able to gather from the trailers. digitalspy.com So, it makes sense that other production companies want to cash in the nostalgia fever and releases their own spin on classic icons of classic games. But, what in the HECK are you guys thinking at Paramount?!?! About a day ago or so, the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog movie was release, and let me tell you, Sonic looks like something that was brought from the darkest pits of hell. Seriously, what were the animators thinking?! It's not cute, nor endearing, or even worth of the namesake. Newsweek.com Whatever that was, it was...

I Want a Refund

Hello!! O.k, so no I haven't disappeared yet again on you guys, but last week was eventful since, my In-Laws decided to come for an entire week for a much needed family vacation in my neck of the woods. It was a roller coaster, with up's & down's, but overall we all had an enjoyable experience. Except for Friday... On this day, we decided as a family to finally go see Avengers: Endgame  in theaters. So, my husband, along with my MIL, FIL & daughter (and I of course) headed to the movies. In advance, we reserved our tickets, with reserved seating (it was an IMAX theater) and off we went. We decided that we would do one of the last showings just because we already knew that it was a 3 hour long movie, so, we were o.k with that. The movie theater was not full (due to maybe time, etc). So, we went up, took our seats and prepared to be wowed. Maria Rivas/Instagram Nope, we got annoyed. We had noticed that in our same row, there was another small group of ...

Sink your teeth into Castlevania.

It is almost February and within the time that I've been missing, there have been so many news, that it is kind of hard to talk to you guys about everything. Lately, I must admit that I've been in a weird funk of watching interesting shows, movies, that are not necessarily in everyone's radar. Yes, I could talk about the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, or anything else that has been buzzing around the internet. But lately, with all the nay-sayers, I've kinda gotten into this funk of finding lost treasure in shows that might not be well known, or given enough time of day, due to either people not knowing, or just glossing over.  One of those 'diamonds in the rough' that I recently was made aware of is 'Castlevania' on Netflix. There's only two seasons of the animated series, and I basically binged watched season 1 yesterday with the Hubby.  And seriously, if you haven't seen this animated series, it really is damned good. (See w...
